and the dems are sinking fast in arrogant corruption and scandal.

The pendulum is swinging back to the proper course.

The polls are a snapshot of where we are at today which is good for Trump but as you stated many times Ed you can't read too much in these polls this far out. Of course this is good news for Trump and if the election was held today these polls show him winning but they are just a snapshot of where the race is now and there is a lot of time between now and November.

After the DNC the "too early for polls" won't be the case anymore - which is after this week.

Hillary might be the only candidate ever to not get a post-convention bump with the DNC scandals, Assange says more is yet to come still too.

All the talking heads on MSNBC and CNN are insinuating (as is Clinton's campaign manager) that Russia and Trump plotted this.

The ole red scare tactic

"It wasn't supposed to be made public, so it doesn't matter it was wrong"

I thought they said Trump would cause ww3 with Russia, now they're saying Russia supports him?

Putin has supported Trump, publicly at least, FWIW.

I think the 'ww3' thing is more related to the fact that both Trump and Putin are stubborn, egotistical and thin skinned, and while they may get on initially, both will take anything as a slight, real or not, and run with it.

Is the Russian Government Helping Trump Win the Election?

Let's say this: if a foreign government wanted to tilt the United States elections towards Trump at a critical moment, they could hardly have done better than the release of these emails on the eve of the Democrats' convention. The #DNCleaks have thrown the entire convention into chaos, with the DNC forced to resign in disgrace - which then led to her being imprudently scooped up by the Clinton campaign itself, which is about the worst possible move in terms of optics. One assumes DWS has further dirt on Clinton that forced the move, but Clinton's attempt to woo Bernie supporters back into the fold may have just hit a permanent roadblock. What should be a triumphant moment for Clinton is now an absolute mess.

And what foreign government would be more interested in a Trump presidency than Russia? Who else, among American politicians, would be willing to openly discuss abandoning Estonia to the Russians without alienating his supporters? Who else, among American politicians, has openly contemplated a high cabinet position for an American general who may or may not be on the Kremlin payroll? Who else has openly flattered Putin's ego?

Putin has said Trump is very talented, followed by Russia has no interest in influencing a US election and will work with whoever is elected.

Very loosely supported, if anything.

I do fail to see how better relations with Russia is a bad thing at any rate.

On the face of it, two countries getting along better is a good thing. But when that means those two countries acting in their own self interest and agreeing to leave each other alone, it becomes questionable - like Russia scooping up eastern bloc countries into its on economic/trade/movement area to essentially expand and recreate the USSR, and stretch the borders of mother russia, that's not necessarily in the best interests of the world.

The US has always been the country capable of keeping the russians and chinese in check, and trump has no interest in doing that.

Peters Roasts Trump for ‘Destructive and Idiotic Statement’ About NATO, Gets Into Argument With Fox Host

Ret. Lt. Col. Ralph Peters blasted Donald Trump on Thursday for making “the most destructive and idiotic statement on foreign policy” he has ever heard from a presidential candidate for casting doubt on whether he would fulfill America’s military obligations to NATO allies, leading to a heated discussion with Fox Business host Trish Regan.

Peters said he had a “very low opinion of Hillary Clinton,” but he did not think she would ever say “anything that stupid.”

Trump set off another firestorm on Wednesday when he told the New York Times there would be a condition for supporting the Baltic states that recently entered NATO and other member states if they came under attack from Russia.

A bump was expected.

Possibly, but give it two weeks... this week and the next.

For someone I consider bright, I find your willingness to take what Putin says as the absolute truth disturbing.

I don't take it as absolute truth, but it doesn't resemble a ringing Trump endorsement.

Fair enough... but if Putsy is orchestrating the doc dump that action speaks volumes.

On an earlier note... I do agree that a steady flow of documents through the week will possibly erode the typical convention bump.

I mean even so it's a tin foil hat thing to think Trump is secretly collaborating with assange and Putin.

Assange at least openly doesn't like Trump or Clinton

If I'd said Trump is colluding, then you'd have a point. But since I did not...

As for Assange.... I think he's so wrapped up in the leak thing that he does not care about the target. Plus I think you forget who was seeking his extradition to the U.S. on espionage charges.

All he has to do is keep his mouth shut between and jan. Literally thats it. This election is now trumps to lose

^ this. The Donald IMHO cannot win by continually taking the low road, insulting everyone and everything in his path. As I said in a PM to BB- there are legions of highly intelligent conservative Republicans who have been totally disgusted by Trump's MO. If they will vote for him remains to be seen. Hillary has a lock on the handout Dems that couldn't care less about her foreign policy fiascos.

Trump has to stay on message. The latest rant about spending millions on a Super Pac to defeat other republicans and bringing up the whole debacle of Cruz's father and Castro among some other things was just nutty. Pence had that look of "what did I get myself into" as he stood behind Trump.

If I were in the Hillary camp I would forget about negative ads that don't seem to work. I would say and do things to get under Trump's skin (which it doesn't seem to take a whole lot to do) and provoke him into his childish rants.

I watched some of Trump's excellent speech to the VFW. If he can do well in the debates and give speeches like that he will be president.

I worry about the guy in a debate just because he's such a loose cannon and also that the media will pick five or ten words out of any speech or debate and make them the focus of the news cycle.

He should be busting his ass and learning a canned answers for every possibility.

My concern as well. I also have a concern with Trump constantly changing his position the latest being on raising the minimum wage:

TRUMP FLIP FLOPS on minimum wage, uses liberal talking point to attack uncaring Republicans

Worse is Trump's swipe at republicans saying:“I know it’s not very Republican to say but you need to help people.”
