Please, anyone, disprove this story. Apparently the NFL is "looking into" Haden's inactive status.

"As is customary in these instances, we have checked in with the club on this to provide an explanation", a league spokesman told Pro Football Talk. "We are looking into it."

Whether we think Joe could or should have played through his rib/finger injuries, he was ruled inactive. What is there to question?

Oh and welcome back Farmer, your hands are clean on this one.

NFL investigating Browns for Joe Haden's deactivation

Oct 5 2015, 9:20 PMArun Srinivasan

The NFL is investigating the Cleveland Browns for deactivating Joe Haden before Sunday's game against the San Diego Chargers, after previously listing him as probable.

Haden was fighting through a rib injury throughout the week.

"As is customary in these instances, we have checked in with the club on this to provide an explanation," a NFL spokesperson told Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio.

Cleveland will have 48 hours to explain their decision to the NFL, according to Florio.

Browns head coach Mike Pettine told reporters Monday that he left the decision up to Haden.

"We left it up to Joe and he made the decision that he didn’t want to go," Pettine said.

The coaches statement is likely to cover their asses for not having him as Q on Friday. I personally believe though that Joes got an attitude about being called out. This was a prima Donna day off.

I feel like he was still going with the "I was hurt" excuse as to why Cooper burned his ass last game.

One report said broken finger, now it's ribs. Broken Finger? Tape the shit to the other finger and roll. Ain't like your catching the ball anyway. Sore ribs? Even fucking TRich strapped up and played with broken ribs and he was a RB that TOOK hits. Left the defense with fucking Poyer and Desir at the last minute. Thanks pal...

Think it was a third unlisted reason. Sand in his V.

Because the NFL assumes a "Probable" as a start. That's why. Then the story gets worse because Pettine told reporters he left it up to Joe. The media is saying Pettine threw Haden under the bus. Several radio shows down here in Tampa included.

This is all a surprise because it seems to come out of nowhere and yet snowball.

It really is all about Vegas and the bookies.

The injury report serves only one purpose---to help set the point spread.

Exactly, 100% correct. Probable=75% chance the player will play, questionable= 50/50, doubtful and out is self explanatory. Its all about vegas using these statuses to help determine what the spread should be. Im sure the nfl spins it as some BS about competitive advantages, but its vegas...
