THE BROWNS BOARD

Trubisky 1 - Browns and Garrett 0

How did Mitch do?

Trubisky, who went 18-for-25 for 166 yards and a touchdown in an electrifying debut Thursday, and starter Mike Glennon, posted a passer rating of 0.0.

John Fox, a jackoff like Hue Jackson, doesn't have a fucking clue about who his starter should be.

Seriously, Trubisky had a hell of a more impressive start than Garrett. We made the wrong pick.

Garrett doesn't get a passer rating. He's on the defense.

Two NFL team owners go into a bar and start talking shit. This first owner says, " Yeah, we moved up to get the second pick overall". The other owner says, Ha, Ha, well, we had the 1st pick overall, so, we gotcha".

The first owner asked, how was his debut, to which the second owner replied, " Oh, impressive, he had 1 tackle and we think maybe he hurried the QB on one play.

The second owner asked, "How did your guy do?", To which the first owner say, 18 - 25, 166 yards and a touchdown. The media reported that he had an electrifying performance, and CBS sports said it was the best rookie performance of the week. The then replied....You took the wrong guy.................GOTCHA

Can this wait until the regular season begins with everyone faces the other teams starters?

Unless we want to keep score on practices next.

Ghoolie is sooo right on this.

Passed on wentz last year, have a prototypical franchise QB from the Cleveland area that wants to play for his home team and we sign someone who doesn't want to be in the brown and orange and can't get off the bench because of a stubbed toe.

Another regretful 1st pick by next year's car salesman of the year.

These guys can't pick anything except their asses.

I'm liking Kizer better than I did when we picked him. Seems like a hard-working kid and doesn't sound like a punk.

But

It's a rare occasion a team has the opportunity to draft the best quarterback prospect. We took a defensive player in that spot and gambled with the quarterback. I hope that works out like we hoped Brady Quinn Charlie Frye Colt McCoy and Brandon Weeden would work out.

We will hopefully not be in the position in the next draft to select the one blue chip Prospect. That honor will probably go to Buffalo or the Jets.

And no matter how much of a homer you might be or how badly ghooley pisses you off so far the bears look like they've gotten the real deal despite having to overpay. Which we would not have had to.

And that can all change in a matter of seconds in the next preseason game so...

The Garrett pick im sure will be a good one. The problem I have with him over Trubisky at 1 is , if we're lucky Garrett's name will show up in a stat line maybe 5 to 7 times a game. Trubisky on the other hand will show up 25 to 30 plus a game. I can't see how taking a DL 1 overall out weighs a QB at 1.

If there's a highly rated QB in the draft..... it doesn't.

But trubisky will be that guy, and when Haslem realizes his front office fucked that one up, they are all toast.

In that same game, check where Ghoolie's 2016 "Football Messiah" Paxton Lynch stood in comparison with the 2 other Denver QBs:

K. Sloter 5 of 6 = 94 yards 1 TD

T. Siemian 6 of 7 = 51 yards

P. Lynch 6 of 9 = 42 yards

It's really special when Lynch's undrafted teammate can take care of throwing the TD pass during the win.

Im thinking the real key to this is not to compare Garrett to Trubisky,,,,,but to compare Kizer to Trubisky.....qb vs qb....

And, based upon the first game, they are neck and neck......

The Browns obviously decided to pick the guy with the better(more complete) resume and the highest "probability" to succeed ....which I think is the smart thing to do with the #1 overall pick.....this has been discussed to death and the prevailing thought by 98% of the world is that Trubisky had too many question marks, where Garrett didnt.....and there were several other QB's who were ranked similarly to Trubisky, one of which we selected....

So...in summary....the Browns thought that Garrett was a surer thing than Trubisky.....and that Kizer offered a similar risk and upside.....and went for both.....

Finally.....since the Trubs lovers came flying out of the woodwork after, basically, seeing him play 1/2 game....then lets be fair and give the same to our guy Kizer.....who was the one who won his game.....and was the one who had a higher rating.....and was the one who completed the longer passes(10 yd avg VS 6 yd avg)....and he passed for more yards, with fewer attempts....

Statistically....Kizer was better and we STILL have Garrett to wreak havoc on opposing QB's.....

LMAO! You were speaking to the Paxton Lynch fan club party of 1 though. Lynch still looked almost as good as 7th round pick Trevor Siemian as well as the undrafted rookie QB (K. Sloter).

As for Garrett, he didn't need 3 quarters of our 1st preseason game to prove he's our best DE. He proved that as soon as contact started in training camp.

Go watch the Chicago game and then watch the kizer portion of ours, Trubisky is light years ahead of Kizer. You can't teach accuracy. The kid has lazer accuracy even while throwing on the run.
