The Gipper
Here is something I have done for at least 3 of the major sports. Name a Team of the Decade. I post a running count here after 7 seasons of the 2010s. Here is the methodology: 10 points goes to the year's Champions, 6 points to the runnerup, 3 points to the losers of the Semifinals, and 1 point to all teams that make the playoffs but lose in the first or second round. The point totals that you see a cumulative for all years of the decade. Here is the current standings: Miami Heat................ 43 points (two titles, 2 runnerups) San Antonio Spurs......23 pts G. St. Warrioris.........18 pts Cleveland Cavaliers....17 pts. OK City Thunder..........17 pts. Dallas Mavericks.........15 pts. LA Lakers....................13 pts. Boston Celtics.............13 pts Atlanta Hawks..............9 pts. Indiana Pacers............9 pts Memphis Grizzlies.......8 pts Chicago Bulls.............7 pts Houston Rockets........6 pts. Orlando Magic............5 pts Portland Trailblazers...5 pts. LA Clippers.................5 pts. Toronto Raptors..........5 pts Denver Nuggets.........4 pts. Phoenix Suns.............3 pts NY Knicks..................3 pts Brooklyn Nets.............3 pts Charlotte Hornets......3 pts Milwaukee Bucks.......3 pts Utah Jazz..................2 pts Phil. 76ers...............2 pts New Orl. The Gipper
Team of the decade still goes to the spurs. And they're not finished either which is sick No, sorry, they have won just one title this decade and one runnerup. The Heat won twice and were runnerup twice. My Team of the Decade list is not subjective, it is objective based purely on how a team's actual performance in the playoffs, not on how good you think they are or how much you like them. As for the Spurs, they may not be finished....but neither are the Cavs, Warriors, Thunder if Durant stays there.
The Gipper
Whichever team wins these Finals will jump up to second place in these standings.....but they still won't come close to taking over from the Heat as the TOD.
