THE BROWNS BOARD

Shameless Self Promotion

If you are out of bed and NOT in church this coming Sunday, you might want to 'tune in' my radio show, "Square Roots" on www. WHUS.org - UCONN's Sound Alternative. It is from 7 - 9 AM Eastern Time

I am particularly excited because I am opening this week's shows with TWO tracks from our friend, Westside Steve.

The full playlist is noted below. Sorry, I can't upload or paste from Excel or Word. You know the most important part, any way.

The first cut is from Steve's new album and the second song "Road To Canaan" is, IMHO, publishing quality for a 'name' artist.

I don't anybody will mind this listing. If you do, however, "Blame It On The Northern Lights".

Congrats!!! I did Saturday night shows for a few yrs on two different outlets and radio is different.. I've played music in front of large crowds and I've played sports in front of large crowds.. With those the feedback was instant whether you did something good or not so good. With radio, I found myself isolated in a sound room. And with the delay involved with internet radio it's quite different.. I wish ya the best and I'll try and tune in B)

Gotta say I enjoyed the show which began 6am CT. John was spinnin a great mix of stuff especially WSS. I was drinking coffee feeling like I should have been powering down beer and barbecue. I even called in and John mentioned this message board as he gave a shout out to Browns fans.

Thanks Tom! Very thoughtful for you to call in.

I will continue to play WSS stuff in the coming weeks.

I try to 'mix it up' a bit by playing artists I haven't played yet. At the same time, I do go back to artists - not necessarily the same songs - as they deserve to be heard.

Nice thing about college radio is I make my own playlist. No directives, as long as I comply with FCC regulations.

I do not get political but I will open next week with a couple of things by Curtis Mayfield. What was pertinent then is even more pertinent in 2016. The music will speak for itself - no need for me to blabber any more than I have to and eat up valuable music time.

PS Lot's of the stuff I play comes out of Nashville, albeit not anything you'd hear on so-called "Country Music" stations.
