TexasAg1969
Big 10 not helping themselves in terms of the 4 team playoff. But no worries. MLD Woody
In case this didn't make it here: That was a miscommunication between Coke and the university. The offer was quickly removed. ...either way, my old roommate got two free tickets (terrible seats, but who cares). The idea this was a thing to make sure Michigan's over 100,000 streak stayed intact is ridiculous. Its the Minnesota game for one. Second, are you expecting them to give out thousands of free tickets at a campus convenience store to make up the difference? lol
MLD Woody
Staying the course with Brady Hoke will just lead to a .500 record at best. Well... Hoke has been over 0.500 each of his three seasons, and won a BCS bowl. I'm not saying he's going to for sure turn us around into an automatic title contender... but your comment makes no sense. WalterWhite
Michigan, Penn State, and Ohio State are all programs of the past. Jo Pa is dead, Woody is dead, Cooper and Tressell are gone, Lloyd Carr and Schembechler are gone. It's a fringe conference now.

Jo Pa is dead, Woody is dead, Cooper and Tressell are gone, Lloyd Carr and Schembechler are gone. It's a fringe conference now. Hardly. The Big Ten still leads all conferences in average attendance, in revenues, in TV ratings. Those are the things schools/conferences concern themselves with....and now the Big Ten has broken into the DC/Baltimore markets and the New York City area....and their potential allegiance of major markets expands. Have they won a National Championship lately? No, but they have been in the national title game a few times. You look at the Big 12 and Pac 10 and the same things can be said for them. I mean, sure, the SEC has the HGH edge going for them right now. But what happens when a real test for that is devised?

Oklahoma this year could go all the way. USC, Oregon, UCLA, and Stanford are far superior to Ohio State right now in terms of relevance. Ohio State can't beat anyone good, ever. (Virgina Tech, Clemson, Michigan State, LSU, Miami, Florida twice, Texas twice, USC twice) They are just an overhyped and overrated organization. Penn State football died with Joe PA and will never be the same. Michigan will can Hoke when the season is over. Dude, it's as dead as a door nail. Notre Dame is far superior at this point. The Gipper
Texas is the most profitable and has the biggest market. No it doesn't have the biggest market. In fact, in the last few years Texas A&M has basically owned the markets that it competes with in Texas. San Antonio and Houston are split...Austin obviously goes for UT. Dallas probably favors A&M. Dallas is probably split between UT, A&M, Baylor Okla. Maybe our JFF fans from Texas can tell you how it is down there. And FYI, NO college football team is supposedly "profitable". The question is how big is the budget.....and Texas and Ohio State are both close. In fact...3 of the Top 5 athletic Budgets are Big Ten teams: http://www.usatoday.com/sports/college/schools/finances/ Oklahoma this year could go all the way. Maybe, so? USC, Oregon, UCLA, and Stanford are far superior to Ohio State right now in terms of relevance. They certainly are no bigger in terms of relevence. Could those teams beat OSU this year? maybe, maybe not. I do think this is a slightly down year for OSU....and losing their Heisman Trophy candidate QB hurts. Ohio State can't beat anyone good, ever. (Virgina Tech, Clemson, Michigan State, LSU, Miami, Florida twice, Texas twice, USC twice) I will address this in another post. They are just an overhyped and overrated organization. Sure...that is why they are almost universally ranked in the Top 5 nationally Penn State football died with Joe PA and will never be the same. Michigan will can Hoke when the season is over. Dude, it's as dead as a door nail. Notre Dame is far superior at this point. Except ND can't beat Ohio State. Ohio State doesn't play them often, but when they do, Ohio St. wins. I Know that OSU has won 3 in a row...it may be more.
The Gipper
Ohio State's record in "Big Games" since 2002. I am defining "big games" as any game against Michigan/Penn St./Michigan St./Wisconsin/Bowl Games/regular season games vs. power conference teams (ACC/SEC/Big 12/Pac 12): 2002: Beat Texas Tech, Washington St., Wisconsin, Penn St., Michigan, Miami Fla. (National Champions) 2003: Beat Washington, Penn St., Mich St., Kansas St. Lost ot Wisconsin and Michigan 2004: Beat Penn St, MSU, Mich, Oklahoma St., North Carolina St. Lost to Wisconsin 2005: Beat MSU, Mich, Notre Dame. Lost to Penn St., Texas 2006: Beat Texas, PSU, MSU, MIchigan Lost to Florida (National Championship game) 2007: Beat Washington, Wisconsin, PSU, Michigan Lost to LSU (National Championship game) 2008: Beat PSU/MSU, Wisconsin, Michigan. Lost to USC, Texas 2009: Beat Wisc., PSU, Michigan, Oregon (Rose Bowl), Lost to USC 2010: Beat PSU, MSU, Michigan, Miami, Fla. Arkansas. Lost to Wisconsin 2011: Beat Colorado, Wisconsin Lost to Penn St., Mich, MSU, Florida (Luke Fickell year) 2012: Beat Michigan, Wisconsin, Penn St., Mich St. California (undefeated) 2013: Beat California, Wisconsin, PSU, Michigan. Lost to Mich. St., Clemson So, the fact is, Walter White is wrong in a lot of what he says: A. Ohio St. is 8-1 vs. Michigan St. in this period. OSU is 7-3 vs. Wisconsin in this period. OSU is 10-2 vs Penn St. OSU is 10-2 vs Michigan in this period. B. Ohio St. has beaten Miami both times they met in this period C. Ohio St. split their regular season games with Texas. D. Ohio St. has beaten non-conference foes Arkansas, Oregon, Notre Dame, Colorado, Cal, OK St., Washington Wash St., NC St., Texas Tech. E. OK, they lost twice to FLA, and to USC. But except for one of those games they were decided by 3-4 points. F. OSU did lose single games to Clemson, Va. Tech. LSU OK, they didn't win every single non-conference game. But they won a fuck of a lot more than they lost.
