  1. Teams getting into his head in the 3rd quarter of preseason....I don't understand how anyone could make an argument that this shows anything but a lack of mental toughness...you want to say something kid- put the ball in the endzone.
  2. Amen Gip it's a fucking Johnny football love fest.
  3. you do realize that the majority of QB's you just named won the Superbowl while also having a Top 5 defense right ? Not saying "defense wins championships" is any more valid as "you have to have an elite qb" but come on man ...
  4. Tebow was drafted in the first round but was actually the Bronco's 2nd 1st round pick (D. Thomas was their first) in which they used a few draft picks to move down. This was done because McDaniels thought he could be coached in his system and a great player...not for publicity.. You are putting way to much stock in the value of publicity IMO , I do not think it makes sense for an NFL team. The Browns will have multiple night games this year (like they had the year after the 10-6 season) because they have a lot of young talent and buzz. Haslem does not strike me as one who is going to step on anyone's toes on drafting a player. Even at his wife's request:)
  5. For me TB is worth the pick at #4, but I will say that is Clowney is available at 4 you take him no questions asked. You can draft a really solid starting CB WR ILB and G with other picks. TB is the only QB I would want the Browns to take at #4.
  6. He does wear a glove....and he did have a bad pro day -Does he have smaller hands than Johnny Manzel and Blake Bortles...yes.. I am not sure what the cut off is for having small hands is, but Teddy's are 9 1/4 inch hands Gloves: if they help wear them if they take away - don't wear them... for everyone who says the greats don't need to there are examples like Kurt Warner, Brady, Manning even Big Ben who have worn them... Hand size is the "prisoner of the moment" stat of the year: Hoyer has 9 1/2 inch hands,Colin Kapernick has 9 inches, Vick 8 1/2 inch..oh and Weeden had 9 3/5 inches, Couch 9 7/8 inches, Brees has 10'1 inch hands - the proving future success with past success/failures of other people can go either way. My point of all this is to say that there are always examples of people who have done this or done that with these measurements/stats/preferences or those ...but what really matters IMO is when a QB can demonstrate on film that he can read a defense, make good decisions and can physically make the throws to win a game - IMO Teddy does those things better than anyone in the draft and it is not close. Bortles is a measurement guy who wasn't asked to read defenses or call audibles (not saying he couldn't) - Manzel is a swag guy who was really exciting to watch especially in broken plays...but those broken plays were often the result of him not checking down or hitting the open receiver... Teddy is an offensive coordinator playing QB type of guy...in fact he called the majority of Lousiville's plays this year from the line... I'll take Teddy over Manzel/Bortles all day.
  7. Image absolutely counts but to say that Farmer and company are sitting in a war room thinking "well we really think player X is a better player than player Y but player Y would sell more jerseys so lets draft him instead" is ridiculous... Tim Tebow can not find a job in the NFL...case closed.
  8. Pettine was quoted as saying he would not move Mack inside - I like Mack but if it comes down to clowney or mack - you have to go clowney- I would be happy with either.
  9. I still like Teddy B the most out of the QB's - up until the ridiculous time between the last college football game and the draft Teddy was the consensus #1 QB for the last two years. He is the only QB of the big 3 that called his own plays in a pro style offense at the line... he has the best mechanics, footwork and he did not show any sign of breaking down under pressure... if the Browns go QB at 4 and TB is there- RUN TO THE PODIUM
  10. The Redskins took RG3 because he was the 2nd best player in the draft, behind only Luck- not because of publicity - teams do not base their draft decisions based on publicity - nothing - player, coach or Storyline will play better than the Cleveland Browns winning football games. If the Browns draft Manzel will it get them a Monday night football game? maybe...but that is hardly a reason any football team would use to draft a particular player. If the browns draft Manzel it will because they think he gives them the best chance to win.
  11. They can interview but can not be hired until the season is over. I agree Zombo that seems like a bit of a distraction going the biggest game in SD since the LT days...
  12. haha, awesome! Interesting personality shift going from coaching Kurt Warner to Johnny Football haha (granted a few years ago) but I like both Kenny the Hut and Johnny Football, think of all the nicknames and memes.
  13. Hey Mike, I like the idea of drafting a higher boom/bust risk guy with #4 and selecting another QB in with one of our 4th round picks. Bring the two newbs in to compete against Hoyer and another vet and see who is left standing between our 4th round pick and the vet and if that #4 pick can hang beat out Hoyer. Washington did this with RGIII and Cousins and it worked out...well.. it worked out on paper:)
  14. Cowboys are not trading Romo, they just signed him to a new deal...because of the way the NFL has moved to a slotted rookie wage scale it becomes much more cost effective to have a Vet QB with a top 5 pick sitting on the bench learning the system and developing.
  15. I'll take Johnny Football, he is wildly intelligent, ultra competitive and have an underrated arm. I don't think he will be running around much in the NFL but the way he feel pressure and makes the right decision under duress is pretty much the opposite of Brandon Weeden.
