Once upon a time there used to be other outstanding rivalries on the schedule in addition to the above.

The day after Thanksgiving alway featured Oklahoma/Nebraska

Then there was Texas/Texas A&M

Pitt/Penn St.

Any other good rivalries that are now thrown to the wayside?

I don't remember Oklahoma and Nebraska ever being on rivalry week in my lifetime. Maybe pre-90s.

Pitt-Penn State is back

A&M-Texas will be back in a few years, but probably in September.

As I said, OK/Nebraska was almost always played the day after Thanksgiving.

Pitt/Penn State do now play. Does not have the same oomph as when it was played late in the year.

A lot of those old casualties were victims of the newer mega conferences, too bad but I guess that's progress....or just money driven greed, power and ratings. Some conferences disapeared altogether.

Remember when the Big 8 and Big 10 had 8 and 10 teams?

As noted, Pitt and Penn State have begun to play again. Wargo says that Texas and TAMU will play again before long. I think that will be so. But for now, TAMU is too concerned with loading up their non-conf. schedule with cupcakes:

And now I see that Nebraska and Oklahoma will be playing each other in the future:

OSU vs Michigan line moved to -5

http://www.oddsshark.com/ncaaf/odds/line-history/730320

Those are basically online overseas betting lines, I stay away from those.

But many Vegas casinos are at OSU -6, O/U 44'. Opened at -7' and 51'. (Vegasinsider.com)

I DON'T LIKE BYE WEEKS BUT HERE'S THE D-1AA PLAYOFFS, EASY TO DO!

The top eight seeds in the playoffs -- North Dakota State, Eastern Washington (victorious against Washington State earlier this year), Jacksonville State, James Madison, Sam Houston State, The Citadel, North Dakota and South Dakota State -- all receive first-round byes and will be back in action, at home, on Dec. 3.

Check out the first two rounds below and click here to print out a bracket.

First round (Nov. 26)

Weber St. (7-4) at Chattanooga (8-3) -- 2 p.m. ET, TV: ESPN3

Lehigh (9-2) at New Hampshire (7-4) -- 2 p.m. ET, TV: ESPN3

Samford (7-4) at Youngstown St. (8-3) -- 5 p.m. ET, TV: ESPN3

Charleston So. (7-3) at Wofford (8-3) -- 2 p.m. ET, TV: ESPN3

N.C. A&T (9-2) at Richmond (8-3) -- 2 p.m. ET, TV: ESPN3

And of course my Alma Mater and my pick.....

Samford (7-4) at Youngstown State (8-3), 5 p.m.

With two victories to end the regular season, Youngstown State, winner of four national titles during the 1990s, busted down the door to its first playoff appearance in 10 years.

Samford entered through the back door after losing three of its final four games. The Bulldogs hope to clear their heads with the passing of Devlin Hodges, the Southern Conference offensive player of the year.

But the Penguins believe their deep run game will keep the ball out of his hands. The winner advances to play at No. 3 seed Jacksonville State (10-1) in the second round on Dec. 3.

The Pick: Youngstown State

They won those titles when Tressel was there being a slimey bastard, right?

Actually he was and still is a good guy if you know him or just go with the media view for what that is worth.

And he's doing fantastic now as the YSU president, the university has more scholars than ever in the incoming classes year after year. The facility improvements are stunning, the old but nice business building I got my two degrees in has been replaced by a real state of the art new building plus other stories like that all over the campus.

And the sports facilities are second to none in the 1-AA plus he got Bo Pelini to come back home, year two....playoffs!

Check out the indoor facilities that some NFL teams have used when they're passing through the area on the road to east coast games. ;)

I actually have more interest in the D-III playoffs. Three Ohio schools in there: Mt. Union, naturally. John Carroll. And Wittenberg...where my wife's parents attended.

I was referring to this story: http://www.si.com/more-sports/2011/05/30/jim-tressel

Not saying he's a bad person. Just a shady coach.

Tressel was not a shady coach. One single time he didn't rat out his players.

Why don't you try this experiment: see if you can put your dick in your mouth, and if successful, see how hard you can bite down on it before giving up due to the pain.

There are 32 spots in the 2016 Division III football playoffs, and 25 of them are handed out as automatic bids. Here's the list of everyone who has clinched.......

I like playoffs but 32 in football is stretching it! Still go OHIO!
