ballpeen
Cleveland can ill afford to stop the progress it is making with the new convention center, etc. A few cents isn't going to break the people who pay. Most of the complainers are probably on Obama phones and EBT cards, and don't vote anyway. Most of the complainers are probably on Obama phones and EBT cards, and don't vote anyway. My correction would be....shouldn't be allowed to vote. My attitude is if you aren't adding a slice to the pie, you shouldn't have a say on how big the pie becomes or how it is divided.. We get everyone together for a dog and pony show and vote vote vote! At that point after we all stand around and congratulate our selves for our wonderful system of government those who are actually in control can just disregard the vote anyway. I forget who made this quote, democracy is two wolves and one sheep voting on what's for dinner. WSS

Or you can but then don't cry when the same people come for your guns or propertiesJudge them to be inferior to me? Gee whiz. That's not the reason at all, now is it?Look at it this way, if you don't contribute anything maybe you shouldn't have an equal vote in deciding what is to be done with the money that those who do contribute put in. But of course they've already come for my property, just 3 days ago was April 15th, and our guns beyond a few miner shooting irons which should be eliminated within the next few generations. Seriously you were just bellyaching about people voting to take your money 2 subsidized Social Security. Does it ever bother you that people are allowed to vote to take your shit? I would imagine it does since I've heard you on both sides of the argument. I know it wouldn't bother you to eliminate the 2nd amendment but you are also unhappy about being taxed to subsidize the elderly. We all want it both ways, don't we? The Cysko Kid
It would bother me to take away the second amendment but it wouldn't bother me to make gun manufacturers use all available technology. I'm not against the elderly just the system worked a lot better when they didn't retire at sixty and then live to be 100.
MLD Woody
If they shouldn't get as much of a vote because they don't contribute as much... Ok The older you are, especially the retired, should get less of a vote because of the total potential they have left to contribute. Why let people that will be dead in a decade or so have an impact on the future?

Westside Steve
Then people without kids shouldn't be taxed for schools. I thought of that but it doesn't work because we benefited from the public education whether or not we have kids. On the other hand generations of folks who have gone to Catholic school? calfoxwc
We should not allow college students the right to vote - unless they own property - a home/land. They don't know diddley enough to vote based on anything legit. Look at woody, for goodness sakes.
DieHardBrownsFan
I'd say the younger people say 18-25 who have never voted but talk shit should be banned from voting forever. And older voters in the mid 30's who are failures in life should be banned. Just my opinion.
MLD Woody
I am serious though, if you don't want people voting because they don't contribute... why not limit the vote for people based on their potential to contribute. You can go on and on about young people can't vote or whatever because you disagree with what I have to say. We get it. But almost any argument you can make to take the vote from a young person I can make a counter one to take the vote from someone that is olde.r Again, that is why I was all for a system that award points for your vote based on how well you understood our politica system, us news, world news, etc.
calfoxwc
Most young people don't own property and homes. But sure, they think they are "experts" about everything about property and homes. It's woodypeckerhead syndrome.
Westside Steve
Nobody believes you are serious woody. Even you understand the idea for the elderly have contributed for their entire lives. The poor? Not so much. But we do understand the point you're trying to make. You just aren't making it very well. WSS
MLD Woody
Who cares how long they've been alive and what they've done. They won't be alive much longer. Why let them vote for short sited things because it will benefit them? It sounds like cal wants to work this all the way back to just white male land owners. What about an elderly person that sells their home and moves into an assisted living facility like diehard. What about adults that live in urban areas and just rent apartments? But no, let's ban young people and poor people from voting. That makes sense. I'm sure the tea party is creaming their pants over that somewhere. So, why exactly should poor people not be able to vote? Why not going adults? I mean, aside from the fact they may disagree with you, heaven forbid.
