browns23
Figured I would make a thread for the moves we have made. Signed Mike Napoli and Rajai Davis to one year deals. Both look to be on the downside of their career, but will more than likely be stopgaps until prospects graduate to the majors. Any thoughts? The Gipper
Yea, my thought......when will they get some decent hitters. These guys don't seem to be what they need.
browns23
I know, it seems like they are banking on prospects like Naquin, Frazier, and Zimmer to be up by next season and producing which is highly risky. They have the starters to make a push but having blind hope that the kids will produce is moronic
browns23
Another signing today is left handed reliever Joe Thatcher. He has a career 3.38 era but is going to be 35 this season. Here are his career stats http://m.bbref.com/m?p=XXplayersXXtXXthatcjo01-pitch.shtml&t=all_standard_pitching
Browns149
Is hoping a young player to come up and do well, worse then signing old guys that will ultimately break down and fail?
The Gipper
Is hoping a young player to come up and do well, worse then signing old guys that will ultimately break down and fail? Can they hit 40 homers and drive in 120?
browns23
Is hoping a young player to come up and do well, worse then signing old guys that will ultimately break down and fail?No just unlikely more than anything. My big issue with the lineup is that anytime a lefty throws against us, it's going to be a long game with our lefty heavy lineup.
Browns149
No just unlikely more than anything. My big issue with the lineup is that anytime a lefty throws against us, it's going to be a long game with our lefty heavy lineup. Napoli and Davis are both righties. They love left handed pitching Not like Carlos Santana, who sucks as a right handed hitter. Most of the division's best starters are lefties. So having Santana on the bench and Davis, Napoli playing is a good thing
One Post
If Frazier can get his head screwed on straight it will be a start. With Santana in the lineup with him they would look good up the middle.
