The Cysko Kid
I have a bunch of those things in my cupboards and somehow have not managed to be morbidly obese. It's called exercise. It's good for you. Walking to the corner instead of taking the mobility scooter is probably a good start
gftChris
She's right though - you look at anywhere around the world at any period in history and the poor people are all morbidly obese...

Westside Steve
It's way cheaper to buy healthy food then this processed shit. I might guess that one facet of this phenomenon is that if you don't work beyond waddling to the mailbox for your check then you probably don't get a lot of exercise. On the other hand I dropped 60 bucks on breakfast for for yesterday morning and yesterday evening 30 more bucks on a couple of rib eyes for the grill. As a fat guy I can tell you there's lots of different reasons for it. WSS

Being educated about your food choices and how processed food manipulate the metabolic process is important and I think poor people don't get that education from an early age, and therefore continue to buy this processed crap. This is very true. It's amazing how much food you can get if you buy vegetables, and things like rice and pasta. It's the meat that's a killer, and if you're not so fussed about animal welfare that can be cheap as well.

Westside Steve
take a look at that woman's pantry. I don't see any inexpensive foods such as ramen noodles I see overpriced packages of cookies and bags of chips. people can get four times the nutrition for the money buying flour butter eggs vegetables meat etc. It's the laziness that counts here. And my point is that the healthy shit is actually cheaper so the excuse that the government doesn't give her enough money is bullshit. WSS
MLD Woody
Two things of ramen and one of those microwaveable steamed vegetable family side packs... Cheap and easy. I have money now... But you'd never know it lol
gftChris
You can certainly get the impression that healthy things are more expensive. Organic things, for example. But you need to look past that, healthy doesn't just mean grilled meat and steamed vegetables which can be expensive. Locally grown things are usually the cheapest and healthiest. Please. Conspicuous consumption for upper middle class housewives. you can always get the less beautiful produce which is just as good for you as the bright shiny stuff. it doesn't really get much cheaper than that. And chopped up and cooked? You cannot tell the difference. WSS
