THE BROWNS BOARD

what we really need here again is a stud offensive tackle or a new cornerback

We done this idiot shit in the first round for twenty years it will work now. WHO the fuck needs people who makes tds

We actually have some offensive skill players. Our 2 RBs, and a couple of the WRs and our TE is Pro Bowl caliber.

But...the QB situation sucks.....and all of those skill players can do nothing with out blocking. 8 sacks, 33 rushing yards in a game.

Do you really think it is poor skill players that are responsible for that?

And our defensive backfield is a dumpster fire....but, certainly more critical would be if the Browns could get a pass rush....which they can't seem to get.

Actually, we need a pass rusher. I think we have some players who can score, so I disagree about lineman. On O it starts with the O-line. If you don't have that, you have QBs with concussions.

name a position....any position......and, I guarantee.....we need it....QB, TE, OLB, DE, SS, FS, CB, KR, PR, C, OT, OG, PK......

Miss any?

Yea, WR.. & think we all know why ;). 4 may not be enough? or is it 4 inaccurate QB's with OL issues? or they can't get open in 2.5 seconds? Time we see what Payton & Higgins can do on field? or are they the next Gabe & Sneed,Johnson we just move on from with NO QB? (I don't see our game day player evaluations going to well at WR or TE or a Scooby ect.S.Coleman ect. ect.)

Okay... some way-out-of-any-box-thinking... and, yes, I have been drinking tonight...

Draft an insanely inhuman place kicker first... kicks 70-yarders into the wind at the North Pole and makes them all...

then defense, defense, defense, defense, defense,,,, (to infinity)

I'd rather go 19-0, winning every game 3-0, than lose every game 40-24 (because we just HAD to have a QB in every draft)

I put the 19-0 vs. 0-16 proposition to some of the younger guys in my office... and they actually had to think about it!!!!!!!!!

Rich, nice to see you make an appearance. Sure we need playmakers- we have a few like Pryor, Barnidge and maybe Coleman. Need a stud qb.

Problem is Rich- with the sad state of the o-line, even Tom Brady would look like shit if given less than a second to throw. Garbage is garbage, and Erving IS garbage. So we need a replacement center- at least, and probably depth upgrades.

If Joe Thomas finally gets pissed off and demands a trade- we're looking at a gaping hole at left tackle. Not an optimum situation if we draft our QBOTF #1 overall.

Needs

#1 QB

#2 Interior Linemen

#3 Secondary

#4 Pass rushing specialist

And yes, there are ton of others as well.

#2 and #3 ... are easy to do ... you draft guys that are better than the ones we got. We can do better than Erving easily and replace Greco with a draft pick as well. Drango in the mix with another year experience. Coleman can challenge Pasztor outside with another year of experience. The secondary ... you just gotta draft better. None of the four safeties that we interchange on a weekly basis have shown they are NFL starters yet. Williams needs replaced and we need to get our hands on a young stud corner.

#1and #4 ... Huge needs, but not easy to get it right. You can draft QBs and pass rushers all day, doens't mean you are going to get a game-changer. We drafted a QB in the third round and three pass rushers in the top four rounds, no reason to think they will be elite. This is where those two first round picks come in. We need a superstar on each side of the bar. I can't say for sure we will find them this year, I know people are down on the QBs, but we have to find them eventually.

Hear what you say. On #1....get Trubisky. I mean....he seems the complete package and while maybe a couple of defenders may be considered better overall prospects....you need to get that QB...and get the best one you can.

On #2...Jesus, Mary, and Joseph I hate having to go OC with another 1st rounder after having taken Erving just last year. But it is a must. Can we wait til round 2? I think we can, what with Elflein, Pocic and Mason out there we can get one at the top of round 2.

Then what do we do about the defense? We may have pick #10 to 19 with the Eagles, plus somewhere around 45-47 in round 2, plus @#65.

All need to be defense. In round one if you want to go pass rush....Tim Williams of Alabama may work. Or Derek Bennett of Vandy.

Or if you want a DB....Teez Tabor Fla, or Jamal Adams LSU.

In mid 2d round: Adoree Jackson USC at CB, or Taco Charlton DE of Mich?

Doesn't it suck to have the draft be the focus of conversation on this board on Thanksgiving. What else do we have to look at? Certainly not the current play of the Browns.

Can't really comment on those guys, I don't catch enough college football. I've seen Trub play for maybe a minute and a half. When the season is over I'll start reading scouting reports ... Just know what we need.

1 guy has no reason to be in the NFL, the other should be on a practice squad, and one is an unknown.

Somehow I don't get a warm and fuzzy feeling with that scenario Mud.

I don't want us to draft OT next yr.. Paz is doing great, and we already invested in Coleman last draft.

C Reiter may be OK. Can we just have Erving miss the team bus all next season, we'll do better without him

But we still need G, because Greco is done

No, Paz isn't doing great. . .

Incorrect.

Per PFF, Pazstor has been the #1RT in the league since week 4, and the #9 overall OT.

And yet the majority of the sacks and QB pressure come from the right side of the OL to the center position.

Two different mock drafts have the Browns taking Myles Garrett DE Texas A&M, the best player in the draft and at #16 Zach Cunningham ILB Vanderbilt

Take the best players and stop trading for picks is the only way to get back on track

I honestly think we can get a QB in the second-third round or wait until next year. Hue wasted this year's draft and the whole season!

We've tried the third round approach before. Frye, McCoy, and now Kessler. Of course, we've busted spectacularly in the first with We-done, Quinn, and Manziel. A few FAs that didn't work out either. MHO is sure you can get lucky with a Carr (who we probably should have taken instead of Manziel). Think Derek would have survived behind our sieve o-line, and having Pryor as his only target? It's time to stop messing around and go for the pick of the litter. We're way overdue to get the QB position right.

I doubt the majority of fans are going to have a "wait till 2018" approach to drafting a qb. Sure, Wentz has cooled off of late- but he still has the look of a franchise qb. If the Browns pull a 2016 and trade out of our potential #1 overall pick- I might throw stuff at the TV.

Sure having Garret would be nice- but franchise QB trumps stud pass rusher. We're not going to get both, unless the FO has learned form their scouting mistakes. Quantity is not better than quality.

How well did Mitch Schwartz pass protect his first couple years here starting when we'd put in an inexperienced QB or has been/never been prone to holding onto the ball too long? Before he became so widely adored - there was a time a lot of our fans weren't willing to be fair to him or the situation around him at all. And here we go again.

There was a time THIS year when Crow averaged over 6 yards a carry for a stretch of about 4 games. Let's try to refrain from many of the same premature conclusions people had about Schwartz back when he had unreliability to his immediate left and we could only run off the right side of his fanny with our any of previous former practice squad RBs from the Houston Texans.

I see Free on that list as well after the previous starting QB in Dallas followed up 2 consecutive broken collar bones with a serious back injury leading to a rookie QB starting there in 2016. Before Romo turned 35 his body could handle buying more time for improvise in the pocket so now they have a well built rookie doing this to add great balance to an ideal running game. Just out of curiosity, when Prescott is buying more time or escaping the pocket to his right so the coming off the right tackle finally hurries the throw - is there a time limit on this hurrying the QB stat? Who set this criteria?

That's what most of us want, and DON'T trade down.

I think Shon Coleman wasn't fully recovered from cancer. I would expect him to be healthier and contribute next year.
