THE BROWNS BOARD

The End is Near

One Post

Recommended Posts

As the political storm brews a dust storm it will settle with mushroom clouds and death. I just hope I get to see my oldest grandkids drive my '56.

What do you see in the future for mankind? Do you have hope or am I dillusional?

OK, One Post, you were the first to respond to my first ever post on the Browns Board so you get a poetry prize. It’s my belief that most people will go through life never having a poem (either written or spoken) dedicated to them. Well, you are safe, cuz this one’s for you.

I’ve been on to this guy for a while, true freaking genius and his politics should cause a ruckus on this board. I suggest reading the poem then visiting his Wikipedia page. I really can’t summarize what an amazing life Archibald MacLeish had.

Archibald MacLeish (1982-1982)

Here are a few high points:

  • Studied at Yale, member of Skull and Bones Society, graduate work at Harvard Law and edited Harvard Law Review
  • First an ambulance driver then an artillery captain in WWI
  • Left his law firm in the 20s and moved as an expatriate to France as an avant-garde poet, hung with Picasso, Hemingway, F Scott Fitzgerald, Gertrude Stein, you name it.
  • Wrote for Fortune magazine upon his return to US, then was appointed the first Librarian of Congress by FDR. He completely reorganized the library and started the Poet Laureate Award process.
  • Assisted with the development of the new "Research and Analysis Branch" of the Office of Strategic Services, the precursor to the Central Intelligence Agency.
  • During World War II served as director of the War Department's Office of Facts and Figures and as the assistant director of the Office of War Information, and was heavily involved with propaganda.
  • Persecuted by J Edgar Hoover and Joseph McCarthy after the war for allegedly being a “fellow traveler” with communists/socialists (in spite of war service and after having helped create the CIA basically.)
  • 2 Pulitzer Prizes for Poetry and one for Drama. Talented guy.

Here’s MacLeish’s take on your post, One Post:

The End of the World

Quite unexpectedly, as Vasserot

The armless ambidextrian was lighting

A match between his great and second toe,

And Ralph the lion was engaged in biting

The neck of Madame Sossman while the drum

Pointed, and Teeny was about to cough

In waltz-time swinging Jocko by the thumb,

Quite unexpectedly the top blew off:

And there, there overhead, there, there hung over

Those thousands of white faces, those dazed eyes,

There in the starless dark, the poise, the hover,

There with vast wings across the cancelled skies,

There in the sudden blackness the black pall

Of nothing, nothing, nothing -- nothing at all.

If you really can't understand I don't imagine that explanation will help.

I have an idea what you made an attempt at... But unfortunately it completely fell flat.

The black people steal joke is funnier when they're not black men with more more than you'll ever see. Just saying

Mixed with the context of this board as well I guess

It was more of a Golden State Warriors slam snowflake.

Not that I give a shit either way but I'm curious.... how is it more of a warriors slam ?

Keeping the Golden State Warriors out of the White House would cut-down on security costs from theft assuming that the Golden State Warriors live their lives as dirty as they play ball. Take a deep breath kids.

Another clue is that I wouldn't have said it about the Cleveland Cavaliers who, I assume, also employ a lot of negroes.

well, as the duly appointed special decider, this will take some time...I have to investigate

whether or not Woody had communications with the russians, and consider the possibility

that he may have obstructed poetic justice...completely impartially, of course...in my best impression

of a liberal judge....

and I won't flop, pull jerseys, knee Irving in the leg, hammer Lebronco in the head and claim foul and try to get

two foul shots after claiming the warrior player was ...."headbutted" and pay off referees to act like wwf refs like Dishonesty Curry and the

Big Actors did..

okay, Steve wins. It was a good joke, I got it, agreed with it. :)

Lol. I see nothing wrong with that. He'll be completely fair

The Cleveland Caveliers played the Golden State Warriors for the nba championship. Steve is a Cavs fan and was being quite jovial about some fake news that the Golden State team would visit the White House; our nations capital.

You see, when a professional team wins a championship...most of them visit the White House and when it was Obammy in office he would suck them dry,

Love that year Chevy.

Is the gas tank spout behind the tail light? What motor? 327?

Yes behind the left tail light. Originally it had 283 but now a 350. It's got chrome everything under the hood but is a cruiser not a hot rod really. It looks mean and the brakes are rough you have to stand on them. It's been in the family for years.

That's correct, I haven't been anywhere but I can read, and I've seen enough to realize that America is a for profit organization that doesn't give a fuck about me or my family or anyone who can't afford it.

I don't blame you for refusing to believe that these modern wars are driven by money. It's a depressing side to take, but I don't have the luxury of placing what I want to believe over what makes sense.

I agree with some of this. I don't really think the government has a responsibility to care about me or my family. How could they? I'm just one of 350 plus million.

On the other hand, our government has been forced to admit to some pretty disturbing things. For example, why is it that most conflicts past WWII were not declared wars by our congress?

Vietnam was about opium and heroine production as evidenced by Frank Lucas, Nicky Barnes, and other mobsters like Carmine Tramunti. The overall tactics used in Vietnam are indicative of a prolonged conflict by design.

Operation Iraqi Freedom was also a prolonged conflict by design as they employed similar tactics just like in Vietnam. We also planted the seeds for insurgency by our actions and inactions throughout the conflict.

Operation Enduring Freedom is where our opium is coming from now. If you look back at the rise of pharmaceutical sales from before OEF to now you'll see a huge spike. Just as you will with pharmaceutical related addictions and deaths.

There's also our government's documented experimentation with mind control.

Anyone in a position of power that has sought to end the FED, has either been assassinated, ruined politically, or is lost in obscurity. There are plots afoot and they are being executed across the political board. Part of the reason that partiality towards this party or that seems to make less sense by the day.
