Here is my computation for the NFL Team of the Decade for the 2010s after the conclusion of the 2015 NFL playoffs.

Here is a review on how the system works, and it is simple: A team gets 10 points for winning the Super Bowl, 6 points for losing the Super Bowl, 3 points for losing the conference title game, and 1 point for making the playoffs. Each year is accumulated. The points you see are the points awarded a team in a given year, then those are added up. Here is the status through the first 6 years of the 2010s:

Patriots: 1, 6, 3, 3, 10, 3 Total points: 26

Broncos: 1, 1, 6, 1, 10 total point: 19

Seahawks: 1, 1, 10, 6, 1 total points: 19

Packers: 10, 1, 1, 1, 3, 1 total points: 17

Ravens: 1, 3, 10, 1 total points: 15

49ers: 3, 6, 3, total points: 12

Giants: 10 total points: 10

Steelers: 6, 1, 1, 1 total points: 9

Panthers: 1, 1, 6 total points: 8

Colts: 1, 1, 1, 3 total points: 6

Falcons: 1, 1, 3 total points: 5

Bengals: 1, 1, 1, 1, 1 total points: 5

Cardinals: 1, 3 total points: 4

Jets: 3 total points: 3

Bears: 3 total points: 3

Chiefs: 1, 1, 1 total points 3

Saints: 1, 1, 1 total points 1

Texans: 1, 1, 1 total points 1

Eagles: 1, 1 total points 2

Lions: 1, 1 total points 2

Redskins: 1, 1 total points 2

Vikings: 1, 1 total points 2

Chargers: 1 Total points 1

Cowboys: 1 total points 1

Teams that have not made the playoffs in the 2010s with -0- points:

Nice analysis. I would agree with your statements.

A couple things stand out as important to me. The Browns are pathetic. The Cowboys have really fallen from grace, haven't they? They are no longer one of the leagues formidable forces. It will be interesting to see what happens to their fans base for the next 5 years.

Lastly, which makes a couple points turn into three, I will watch with great interest the new franchise energy in LA. If I am the owner, I gotta change that name. La Raiders, Oakland Raiders..... let it die already.

Except it is the Rams that have officially moved to LA. The Raiders haven't decided. And of course the LA Rams were a team from 1946 Through 1994.... almost 50 years, so they will keep the Rams name.

And I hope that the Raiders go nowhere.

I think your rating system is too top heavy

What do you mean by that? That I put too much emphasis on winning a Championship? Isn't winning the Championship what its all about? I do this for 3 sports, baseball, football, basketball, all the same way. (haven't gotten around to doing hockey....pretty much MOntreal dominated all decades up to the 70s I believe) See those threads on those respective boards.

You think you have a better system? Devise it, then apply it.....going all the way back.
