  1. Sashi’s Job was to get fired. Taking the heat was literally why he was hired in the first place. The Browns couldn’t have done the tanking required for Depodesta’s plan without a scape goat, and they couldn’t have hired an established football guy who would’ve carried out the tank.
  2. Mary's is fantastic Pizza, the pizza equivalent of another Lisbon Staple: Steel Trolley Diner, home to some of the best burgers created by man.
  3. The Youngstown area has to have, per capita the best local pizza in the country. I live 5-10 minutes away from wedgewood, uptown, Gia's, Cocca's, Belleria as well as several I haven't even tried yet. 5 minutes further and I can hit up Elmton, V2, Avalon, MVR... add in all the chain places (including the regional pizza joes) and it's safe to say that Youngstown eats plenty of pie.
  4. Born in Akron, OH: home of Lebron James. Currently in Boardman, OH: home of Bernie Kosar, And John Greco.
  5. Of course he's going to die, just like everyone else. be it 100 years from now or tomorrow morning, makes no difference to the universe.
  6. I still maintain that the whole 'Billy Manziel' incident was so funny that it made it worth the first round pick. Football is all entertainment, and when Rizz Broke the story on RBS, I laughed so hard I cried.
  7. started reading this 9 page thread and skipped to the end after 5 posts to put my own 2 cents in, selfishly. If this has already be mentioned, so be it: Even if the head motherfuckers in charge of the Berea Diarrhea are absolutely positive that Manziel isn't the QB of the future, they should still play him in hopes that he can put together a resume that will make him a tradable asset. Here's a flame-worthy what-if scenario: Manziel starts the last 6 games and throws for 1900 yds 15 tds and 4 int, but the coaching staff is still like "fuck this kid is a cunt". They trade Manziel to the Cowboys for their 1st round pick (which ends up being pretty dang good) which allows the browns to select Joey Bosa and Jared Goff.
  8. I'm not choosing to miss anything, I addressed that he was playing against and WITH non-NFL talent. I also pointed out that for the most part, minus a few exceptions, he played against and with non-NFL talent in college. We know he is successful at that level, and I hope he's successful at the NFL level. We are all tired of QB purgatory, but I'm done crowning QBs based on preseason.
  9. I certainly want to see Manziel succeed and am happy that he is committing himself but like I said: we know he is good against college level players, and at tamu he played WITH lot of college level players. He had Mike Evans but most of the guys who played offense with Manziel are nowhere near an NFL roster. Mccown was being pressured by guys like Mario Williams and Marcell Dareus, Johnny was being pressured by guys that will be working as bouncers in the flats this September. Not saying John Manziel can't be a franchise guy, I'm saying he needs to show it to me while playing real football games against real NFL players.
  10. I was listening to Goldhammer be an idiot yesterday, and I'm beginning to believe it's his angle to wrile people up and draw attention to his show. He was talking about how bad mccown was and how good Manziel was, without even mentioning that they were playing in completely different situations. Mccown was playing against starters in a really good defense with a great defensive coach. Manziel, on the other hand was playing against guys that probably won't even make an NFL roster. the only thing more worthless than preseason football is 4th quarter preseason football. We all know Manziel is good against college level talent. I want to see what he has against NFL starters.
  11. McCown isn't the path the FO is taking in lieu of seeking a franchise QB, but instead part of the process. Josh is here to hold down the fort while Manziel develops as Farmer and Pett are still looking to JFF to become the long term solution. In two years Farmer has brought in a shitload of fresh talent and I'm looking for another step forward this year regardless of who is under center.
  12. Yes. Something like a guy who went 18 for 35, threw 2 interceptions and scored a rushing TD. Do you understand what a comeback is?
  13. I guess we will find out if this story has legs or not this Thursday. If it's just some random feel-good schlock, we will see Farmer and Co. spend an early pick on a new QB. If Manziel really is staying late to work with coaches on the new offense and spending free time going over the playbook, why wouldn't you give the kid a chance to prove himself? Walking away from a first round pick (and the 3rd used to trade up) after one year is something NO front office would do. This team has a media firestorm surrounded by question marks, a capable journeyman veteran, and arguably the best 3rd and 4th stringers in Lewis and Shaw respectively. I expect this defense to shit on people this year and if Deflip can get a good system in place, we already have the pieces for a successful campaign(not to mention 10 draft picks). Is it Thursday yet?
  14. I'm taking a break from football if they trade a first second or third rounder for that baby back bitch
