More good players come from Ohio. Alright, cool. That literally has nothing to do with the current "debate" and I'm not gonna disagree. I would just say then OSU should do a better job of holding on to their Bo's, Howard's and Woodsons.

Ohio State already had a HC, you know, that Woody guy, Bo's mentor, when Bo was approached to take the Michigan job. No one including Woody would begrudge him taking such a high profile job. If the OSU job was open when Bo was ready to make the jump to the big time....you better ass believe he would have chosen Ohio St. On the other two....those were a couple that Cooper let get away. Now, not so many of them get away, and really, OSU can't get every single good player that comes out of Ohio, there are just too many.

If you think OSU will now forever always be the better program you're delusional lol. You came in undefeated last year and won by a point. We're finally getting the RRod recruits out. We canned our crappy OC. I feel good. The schedule next year is tough but 2015 is the put up or shut up year for Hoke. It has been for awhile.

No, OSU will always be the better program. I guess that is, unless you get another good Ohioan to run that program like you got Bo. You did almost get one: Les Miles. From Ohio, Lorain or Elyria I think.

Pryor was seen driving 8 different cars while at OSU. Its easy to just say other schools do it. Its another thing to give that any credibility.

Pryor was not seen driving 8 different cars. Did you see him? I didn't see him. You are just aping the hate that you want because you are a Michigan dick.

If I went in to liberal arts I would have been fine at a big, well respected school like Michigan.

And you would have been stupid for doing so.

Of course, I wanted a job so I didn't go liberal arts (I'm excluding the STEM subjects from liberal arts here). Please, no hate comments all at once

So? Its all about the money? If so, then you should be willing to tell us how much this new job is paying you.....and where are you working now? Kansas/Nebraska or the like.

We've been over the fact in other threads you literally know nothing about the relative academic rankings of schools and their programs.

I know just about everything about the relative ranking of schools and their programs. A thousand times more than you do. I can read, and I had to do this process for two kids, first at the undergrad level and now I will be going through at the grad school level. Don't tell me I don't know anything about this.

Within ME, Michigan was #2 my Jr year. Of course these rankings aren't the end all be all, and it is more of a relative measurement.

Sure, absolutely they aren't...and that is why I say that Akron very well may be as good as Michigan....because it is all relative.

I'm just saying, you could make the argument for top 3. Engineering overall it is really similar from like 3 to 9. They shuffle them around to sell subscriptions

Granted.

yes, I've heard about your son countless times. That's great for him.

It is, thank goodness he is smarter than you about this.

I was talking about Miami Ohio.

Why were you talking about Miami, Ohio? I don't recall bringing Miami, Ohio into the mix......unless we are talking about Bo Schembechler's and others Alma Mater.

This is all in another thread already. Your cluelessnes is documented. My responses to the comments you made that were completely unrelated to the original "debate" are documented.

Your cluelessness is even more documented.

You went to Michigan, what greater evidence of cluelessness is there?

And who cares what the original debate was? I mean, this is a "Brandon Weeden" thread.

Can you not carry on an organic conversation? Maybe if you were a liberal arts major instead of an engineer you could do so.

I missed this one earlier... and here... we ... go!

Yes, there is more talent in Ohio... again. Good thing OSU didn't get those two Heisman winners though. Also, we've been doing a pretty good job recruiting lately, especially the east coast (mostly Virginia; top HB, almost top player/ top ATH/ top defensive player, etc).

"OSU will always be the better program" What fantasy world do you live in? The two programs will continue to be pretty much equal. We are coming off of a downswing (the worst ever actually, failed RRod experiment). OSU will eventually have there own downswing (maybe Meyer leaving suddenly? idk). But for the most part they will go back and forth. The state of the coach doesn't matter, the important people in our program just want him to be a Michigan Man.

Oh, you didn't see him? Well I guess that settles it then. I mean, if you didn't see anything down in the sand then I guess nothing happened... or...

There are other articles, this was just one of the first I saw that worked here. That pretty much covers exactly what I was saying... but I mean, YOU didn't see anything, so...

Well, I am not a fan of majoring in a liberal arts degree to begin with (STEM majors may be different). No reason to pay out of state fees at Michigan or wherever to be a Philosophy or Theater Arts major. No matter the prestige or reputation, that's a bad investment. That goes for overpriced liberal arts colleges as well. But, I mean, if money isn't an issue, or you are already in the state, you don't need to go to a little LAC just to succeed. I think being top 10, 15 or 20 in nearly every major would suffice just fine. Not to mention, if you decide you want to major in something else, you actually have options.

College, along with other things, is mainly about getting a job. Building a resume, getting prepared, and joining the work force. Yes, all the fun stuff is great, but it isn't the main goal. I'm not going to tell you how much I make or who I work for. I'll tell you I am in Indiana right now and I'll be moving again in like 1.5 to 2 years. I'll also tell you I turned down higher paying jobs, some a pretty good amount higher, to work for this company, which was my top choice in companies going in to the process. Finally, I'll say I got this all sorted out during the fall of my Sr year and I had plenty of offers to choose from. Good enough?

Lol, it is all relative to a degree. I am talking withing 5 or so spots of each other, usually. 3 to 8. 15 to 20, etc. Not top 5/10 to wherever the hell Akron is. Your constant pushing that Akron engineering is as good as Michigan, let alone comparable, really shows you know nothing about this subject. I'm mean shit... how can you even think that? Like I said a few times in the other thread when we had this conversation (which led to you changing the subject a few times as it became clearer you had no idea what you were saying). Rankings by degree are pretty good within a few rankings. The more exact you get (Engineering to Mechanical Engineering) generally the more accurate they are. That being said, they aren't the end all be all. It would be dumb to claim 5 is much better than 6, etc. Only in a few cases is there a gap (ex, MIT to #2). Within these close rankings, like 4 to 9 or something, they might move them around year to year to make them look new. When you get to overall school rankings, it is much less exact. The ranking system favors certain practices over others that can be artificially improved (getting tons of applicants to drive down acceptance rate, superscoring ACT/SAT scores, etc) and give advantages to certain types of schools. The window of comparable schools is even greater here as well.

Yes, you think your son is a genius, good for him. I am happy he was "smarter than me about this".

You brought up Miami OH last time we had this "debate" and you claimed it was as good of a school as Michigan. Which was basically as ridiculous as the Akron engineering comment (though not as much so)

Yeah, I went to Michigan. It was a fantastic decision, nothing clueless about it. I'll take that experience over some tiny LAC any day.

Can I carry on an "organic conversation"... lol, yeah fuck you. So I made a comment that Tressel was to blame for OSU's recent run in with the NCAA, which was true, and you called me a "Michigan dick". Yeah, I should do a better job carrying on "organic conversation" for you. I am so sorry. Not that this thread was never about anything important to begin with. Not that you have responded every time. No, all me, my bad. I should do a better job of carrying on an "organic conversation" like you....

Lol. Ohio state had a helmet striped like michigans for a year or two before Michigan did. Glad it didn't stick. Ugliest helmet in football.

Well I know we weren't the first, but I thought Princeton was. Then their coach took a job here and brought the design with him.

I think it is a fantastic, unique helmet.

You are committing the ultimate crime kid. You are boring me. OK, I will give you one: your conversations are so organic that they have turned to mulch.

Asking The Gipper to stop talking is like asking a baby to stop pooping. There are other similarities as well.

No, all you have to do is to bore me like he did, and I will stop. Just be aware that being ignorant and stupid is not theequivalent of being boring necessarily. Most others on here have acknowledged that you are sufficiently stupid and ignorant to warrant them ignoring you.

I will let you know when you get to that point for me.

Alright, I accept your apology. Yes you were mistaken about many things regarding tatgate and Tressel. Yes you know very little about college academic rankings and the like. Yes, you brought this on yourself by starting the whole thing. Apology accepted.

We can end the conversation now, if you like.

You can shove any apology you think you may want right up your fucking asshole.

I just got bored dicking around with you, since you are dickless.

Don't you like have a job with a boss? I am my own boss, so I can come and go as I pleased.

Maybe we traded the design rights for the rights to script Ohio...

Like we traded the Toledo Strip...and Michigan got the UP. In either case, we got something of value to us for something that was of no value to us whatsoever but may have value for Michigan.

I thought Princeton did the winged helmet first.

Hmm, according to this, it was actually Ohio St. ...and then Indiana that had it.

I guess it depends on what we are talking about. The OSU helmets seem to have a wing design in front, but the straps that might be considered stripes look like they are there for protection rather than as some aesthetic choice. Those Indiana helmets have the different colored stripes.

I saw that site too, it was the only one I could find that didn't say Princeton. The OSU helmet looks like it is just a two tone leather with extra padding in the front. The Indiana one looks much more similar. But like I said, pretty much everywhere else accredited it to Crisler

mmmkay...

Not as inventive as the best Buckeye fan line in HBO's "The Rivalry", but intent is clear.

FYI, the line was:

"The whole state (of Michigan) smells like hotdog water."
