mjp28
DIVISION 1-AA QUARTERFINALS - SATURDAY DECEMBER 10, 2016 ND ST SD ST NOON ESPN YOUNGSTOWN STATE WOFFORD 2 PM ESPN3.... and a televised HOME YSU game, by bid. A rather unique situation in 1-AA playoffs bidding on later round games to boost attendance and interest. The Championship Game will be in Frisco, Texas. It has taken college football's elite more than 100 years to be dragged toward a playoff system that likely will still only have a handful of teams. Smaller schools have been doing the playoffs for a long time -- and they're about to make them bigger..... from an old 2012 letter .... http://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/7916865/football-championship-subdivision-set-expand-playoffs-24-teams-2013
mjp28
They ain't played nobody!...from ESPN http://www.espn.com/college-football/insider/story/_/id/18221277/why-records-tell-real-story-college-football-bowl-teams It's a rallying cry throughout college football, Not all records are created equal in this sport. Some teams fatten up on empty calories, while others build lean muscle mass. This season, there are 19 teams with six wins, seven with seven wins, 21 with eight wins and 15 with nine wins. Some of the more misleading schedules come from teams barely achieving bowl eligibility. On the flip side, there are 8-4 or 9-3 teams validated by the gantlets they endured. Sound familiar? And it was a tumultuous but fun season in college football, hopefully the playoffs will give some closure well if Alabama does win it all.

The Gipper
I see that we in Northeast Ohio got fucked this weekend in the Division III playoffs. Mary Hardin Baylor beat Mt. Union 14-12 Wisc. Osh Kosh beat John Carroll 10-3 both hard fought defensive games. Both MUU and JC had to go on the road. I guess it was a matter of seeding that decided that. If those games had been at home it might have been a different story. Mary Hardin Baylor is in the same conference as my daughter's school, Trinity, is in. Mary Hardin Baylor is in Belton Texas, between Austin and Waco. (So, I don't know...."Baylor" founded a school in Waco that he names after himself, then creates another one down the road named after his wife? Not sure about all that). mjp28
but they have OSU favored in the game vs Clemson,,Doesn't make sence Those are the progressive odds top down, the Buckeyes are slightly ahead of Clemson in both odds and line, should be a good game. And I'd rather have seen Michigan instead of one loss Washington against Alabama, maybe their defense could have hung around for awhile.
