what's that olympic sport... where they roll/bowl a big puck on ice?

that is a lot more exciting than soccer.

frisbee golf is more exciting to watch than soccer.

If soccer was a real sport, it would be real football.

Shut up dick head!

Diehard calls people dick heads, Zombo loves his country and soccer is still not close to AMERICAN FOOTBALL played by people who's moms don't want them to get hurt playing sports.

Is this a great country or what! And GO USA (preferably the women's team, some of them are HOT). :)

Thanks for reminding me....and it's a rehab facility hooked to a nursing home, oh god it's scary on the other side. But good PT and OT here.

I've been through 6 rehab outfits in my life, some would scare the bejesus out of you, one is currently under state supervision and three employees are up on serious charges like possibly manslaughter. :o

....."BOARDMAN, Ohio (WKBN) Prosecutors in Boardman say three nursing home workers made a mistake with drugs and a patient died because of it.

The death at the center of the case happened in 2015 at Greenbriar Healthcare Center in Boardman.

It took the Ohio Attorney Generals Office the next two years to put together its case, and now investigators are charging those that they say are responsible.

Assistant Mahoning County Prosecutor Michael McBride said the Greenbriar patient died after the employees gave him the wrong drug and then tried to treat his overdose on their own.

We believe, and actually the coroners report indicates, it actually caused the death of this gentleman, McBride said...... :o

I was there for 6 days once and rushed to ER with double pneumonia...in 2015. ...

Ice fish, yes, ice skate, no.  LOL, safety issues, and you get snow on top of the ice. Doesn't freeze all nice and smooth like a skating rink. Though, at times the ice is plenty thick enough you can drive a car or an ATV out on to it. Just DON'T break through. You do, 15 minutes or less to get out, or you're going to die. LOL, it's why us guys wanted Hue to jump in right before it froze over- you deserved a life changing experience for that 0-16.   Me and Tex Ag have had adventures out in the Rockies with glacial runoff that was damn near freezing- and your body about instantly goes numb when water is that cold.  :)

And this thread is headed for 10,000 views?

Oh god hoorta we really need some good ol' AMERICAN FOOTBALL and soon to get us all righted again!

.......oh and on another unrelated note I see where FOX TV is running ads for the upcoming FIFA World Cup in mother Russia and with NO team USA there, good luck with that one!

File under D'OH!?

FOX will kick its 2018 FIFA World Cup coverage into high gear this summer, airing all 64 matches live from Russia, executives said Tuesday (Feb. 20).

Fox will air an unprecedented 38 World Cup matches on broadcast television, while sports network FS1 will offer 26 live tournament games on cable. Fox Sports will also stream every game of the tournament – which runs from June 14 to July 15 – via its Fox Sports Go and Fox Soccer Match Pass services, the company said.

Group stage action begins on the Fox broadcast network with the Russia-Saudi Arabia match June 14 at 11:00 AM ET and culminates with the World Cup finals on July 15 at 11 am.

Fox Sports’s 2018 World Cup coverage – the first of three consecutive World Cups it will telecast as part of a long-term, English-language TV rights deal with FIFA -- will not include the U.S. Team, which failed to qualify for this year’s tournament.

“The 2018 FIFA World Cup Russia is not only the summer’s biggest sporting event, but Fox Sports’s largest production in our 24-year history,” David Neal, Fox Sports executive producer, FIFA World Cup, and vice president of production, said in a statement. “Our programming team has done a terrific job curating a schedule fit for an event of this magnitude, showcasing thrilling matchups on both Fox and FS1, including more matches than ever before on broadcast television.”.......

OK NOW THE GRIPES ON MOVE THIS POST START....... :o

I am staying at Mandalay Bay this week. The stadium is right next to the I-15 and in full view of the strip. I can't wait to see a game here, it is going to be very cool. Very cool indeed.

To a point Gip. This is different than the Rams going back to LA. St. Louis at least made an attempt to keep the Rams, & Edward Jones dome is modern in comparison to Oakland Alameda. Kroenke was moving- regardless.

Oakland had to know the rules of the game, it's been played out far too many times- build a new stadium, or I'm moving to greener pastures, The Chargers pulled out of San Diego because the populace wasn't interested in building a new stadium. So ditto that for Oakland.

I have to admit, the price tag of these new pleasure palaces is getting insane.

Insane especially with NFL viewership on the decline as in the last three Super Bowl games even with Tom Terrific going down every year.

Hard to justify multi-billion dollar investments with taxpayer money. The young generations are not as interested in going to games, MLB included.

Exactly. The younger generation is growing up on soccer and video games. I regularly see young 'uns at games more interested in texting on their cellphones than what's happening on the field. Seems like being seen at a really cool venue is taking priority over the game. The concurrent rise in ticket prices and concessions ($10 dollar beers) is pricing the average family out of the market.

Sheeze, regarding the Vegas stadium almost $2 billion? Massage chairs in the lux suites? For that kind of money, Ohio could replace the deteriorating I-75 bridge over the Ohio River, with a billion to spare. That much money would feed every poor person in Nevada- for years. Screwed up priorities.

The Indians won 102 games in the regular season last season yet the first place Indians' attendance is down this year, go figure.

Larry, you just never learn, do you? You and I had the very same debate circa 1996 when it was announced that the new franchise would require the purchasing of PSL's. Our friend Kathy challenged my statement that " if the NFL is smart they will stop fukcking around worrying about what the die-hard fan wants, and instead focus on what the casual fan, the more affluent, less knowledgeable but BIG MONEY fan. THe NFL was right to focus on the non die-hard then, and they are 100% CORRECTAMNUDO to continue their behavior now.

Like it or not, we will support the Browns no matter how pizzed we are. As much as you claimed PSL's were an abomination and would kill the game.............you yourself bought PSLs.

So too, is it today. The TRADITIONAL NF fn has dwindled, but the old model of a town supporting a team no longer applies. There are many ways to herd sheep and build new dollars for the NFL. Trust me, they will be fine.

Yeah Tom, the new model isn't Joe six pack, it's the guys with money. The NFL will survive with it's current business model, but I don't expect it to retain it's dominance forever.

Futball- the soccer kind IS the dominant world sport, the USA was a little slow in recognizing it. Crap, Pele was a curiosity back then. Now? You have more kids in youth soccer than any other sport. Just a matter of time until the US produces a world class super-duper star on the order of Maradona or Reynaldo. We have guys like Altidore and a few others that are stars on the international level, just not enough yet to make us a serious World Cup contender. I said way back, it would take a generation of the kids playing soccer until they moved up to the coaching ranks for us to turn the corner- dead on.

I admit- soccer is boring as hell to those that aren't interested in the game. But for one who played competitive hockey, if you think of soccer as a slow motion version of that- you appreciate it. The strategy and rules are similar.

So get with the program- you wouldn't see premier league, and major league US soccer on TV if no one was watching. Gip was trying to argue with me- but he has his head up his a$$, the World Cup final is the most watched sporting event- period. World wide viewership makes our NFL Super Bowl minor league by comparison.

Yeah but who can really watch a sport where little pansies go down holding their knees all the time as slow-mo catches the non-contact. Then the trainer gives a "miracle cure" and off they sprint to the next "collision". I'd rather go outside on a hike and watch the biannual Monarch Butterfly migrations through my part of the world.🦋      🌻 🌻

American futbol players are thumb suckers who could afford the camps, coaches, travel etc, not exactly the most gifted athletes.

In other nations some of their most gifted athletes (regardless of economic status)) are playing futbol.

For these reasons, expect continued underachieving in soccer

Maybe, maybe not. If you're good enough, top soccer players make as much as anyone. FWIW, I don't consider golfers top athletes, and you can make millions playing golf.
