THE BROWNS BOARD

Attending Browns Games 2016

Recommended Posts

While we have a Ticket Forum and a Tailgate Forum, I thought I'd keep a pinned thread about games that Browns Board members are attending and opportunities to get together for tailgates and games.

If you are coming into Cleveland for a game, and want to meet up with some folks, post it here, and if the Browns are coming to a city near you and you are planning a road get-together post it here as well.

Three games I am working on attending this year:

9/25 Browns at Miami

11988317_1010176245700528_47585337907020

I am President of the Naples Browns Backers and this is a big event for us, we are an hour and a half across Alligator Alley from Sun Life Stadium. My club has already bought a block of 42 tickets together, Hoorta, Tourma, Atlanta Mike, Atenears and Hag II are among those coming in for the game, and Gipper was talking about it too. I can still get more group tickets if you are interested, we have upper level seats around the 10 yard for $65 a piece. Any more tickets I order may be in a different section, but I can still definitely get you group rates and seated with other Browns Backers. Groups throughout Florida are coming, we have a block of 263 seats all together so far.

There is a big Browns Backer Worldwide party on Saturday Night. The location of the party and the hotels that will be offering us discounts will be sorted out this weekend, I am part of a group of presidents that are meeting with Megan Rock of the BBW in Fort Lauderdale/Hollywood on Saturday and we are going to scout locations. Needless to say, it will be a huge party with former Browns greats and all that. Sunday, the Naples Browns Backers (and all of the other groups) will be tailgating in the Sun Life parking lot the morning of the game.

Most of us here in the Naples/Fort Myers area will be driving over Saturday and getting a hotel for a night or two. However, we will be arranging transportation from Naples for those that just want go over the morning of the game and back that night.

Anyone is welcome, don't bring a Steelers fan though. They're assholes. If you are interested in tickets, party, hotels, bus, etc ... send me a PM and I'll keep you up-to date on all the details.

10/16 Browns at Titans

Nashville is a pretty easy trip for a lot of people and our own Tom Flugels lives there. I know Atenears, HagII and Hoorta are in on this one, and I would assume Balpeen makes the easy trip from his corner of TN. I am not fully committed on this one yet, but work-willing I will be there. Who am I kidding ... I will be there. There will probably be bar-hopping on Saturday Night and tailgaiting Sunday and a blast at the game making fun of the Titans getting their asses kicked by the Browns. Post on here if you are interested in making this one and we'll keep you in the loop when the time gets closer.

11/6 Cowboys at Browns

tailgate%202_zpsrc9qorax.jpg

This is the Big One this year. The Browns Board tailgate where members traditionally fly in from all across the globe to partake in the greatest tailgate ever. We have turned this yearly event into a four day weekend now, as we will be hitting Cleveland hard starting Thursday Night. Usually one night is a party in the Burbs, perhaps at the Eastland Inn and we will try to make a Westside Steve gig if he is performing that weekend, and if he isn't then better bloody well join us. Everyone is welcome there are maps for the tailgate available and just PM me or anyone else that you know will be there and we will fill you in on the rest. Will post more here when the time gets closer. It's a big year this year, as Howie Dawg and G-Man form the UK both had to miss last year's fun (When Johnny beat the Tits) because of health events in their families, so needless to say they are ready to go this year!

I'm in for all three of those games too Zippy.

9/25 Browns at Miami ... Fly down and Rock the HardRock Casino, then flex my abs on the beach
10/16 Browns at Titans ... Drive down and do an overnighter at the JACK Casino in Cincy on our way down and probably on our way back (if we don't continue on to Tunica and/or Biloxi).
11/6 Cowboys at Browns ... Probably just Tailgate, then hit a bar for the game or catch it at the lounge in the JACK Casino (see the trend here?)
We need to start making some plans in Nashville, but will leave that up to Flugel and/or Ghoolie.

You're a brave one Z-going to two games against teams that just picked up the two best RB's in the country.

They should be worried that we just picked up the best WR in the country.

I'm making plans for a weekend in DC when we play the Skins on 10/2.

Not sure if we have any board members that live in the DC/NoVA area. But if you do, don't hesitate to keep in contact.

My birthday's the first. I'll be in South Carolina for the A&M game that weekend. May make the drive up.

That would be a fun trip also....I heard the Skins are nearly as high as the Saints as far as NFL ticket prices go. Do you know if that's true?

SKINS GAME ATTENTION--living in NC been there many times. Watch your ticket locations under Mezzanines. You may stay dry with weather. But you may end up watching most of game from a TV cause there's plenty of obstructed view seating from beams. Bob806- Loyal Redskins fans never give up their NFC game tickets. Skins open with 2 at home with Pitts & Dallas than hit MedLife at Giants. We in Week 4. Watching ticket prices from Steeler opener will get you in door price range. Usually 60 bucks on up.. but am a EBay/Stubhub shopper that only wants hard copy of ticket.

The success of the Cavs and the rise of the Tribe have gotten to me and given me a vision. Or I drank too much too early yesterday. I'm now a season ticket holder. So I guess I'll be in Cleveland for most games. As well as Miami. Nashville is a maybe right now..

I know they raised the prices after the 2012 season (go figure) -I'd have to check stubhub to get a comparative reference.

Bob, Tia might be joining us in Nashville so I'm sure he and anyone else considering it would appreciate your perspective about how much fun you had last time here and why.

I'll be in Cleveland for the Ravens, Pats, Jets, Cowboys, Steelers, and Bengals. As for the Titans, as strange as it may seem, I am leaning against. That is 1 game I know I will be able to watch at home. There is something to be said for watching a game from your own easy chair. But....I won't totally rule it out at this point.

I HEAR you on that Ballpeen but I'm glad you're not ruling it out either. I used to go to a bar to watch games and I HATED not getting the volume in lieu of the local team that's on a local network anyway. The biggest reason I never joined the Middle TN Browns backers is because they meet downtown near where the Titans play; and I don't want to deal with that kind of traffic unless I'm going to see my Brown play in that stadium.

All that said, last time Cleveland came here - the bar that hosts the Browns Backers threw some great parties for our fan base visiting all weekend. They really did it up first class. At 1 time in the second quarter of the game, Cleveland was down 28-3 and all I could think of was I haven't seen this franchise win 1 football game I have attended since we got the team back. Well, we tightened up the Titans' ability to score while we decided to run the ball down their esophagus with Tate who finished with something like 126 yards on 24 carries to open up all possible scoring prongs. In the 4th Quarter in Nashville - we had ourselves a HOME game as our epic comeback was unfolding.

Hard to believe you and I used to talk about going to a game in Cleveland together some day and here we are talking about a chance to meet up for a game in Nashville. Last time Cleveland came here, the tailgate was HUGE and the volume of Brown and Orange was impressive for it being a road game.

Here's some info on Nashville for those considering making the trip the weekend the Browns play here on Sunday, October 16th.

If this is anything like last time the Browns came to town - the Dawg House Saloon will host parties Friday, Saturday and Sunday for visiting Browns' fans thanks in large to the Middle TN Browns Backers Club that meet there every Sunday. They did it up first class for our fan base. It's located at 1522 Demonbreun Street, Nashville, TN 37203, Phone # 615-864-7393

Here's a couple of the best priced hotels in staggering distance to the Dawg House Saloon:

Comfort Inn Nashville - Downtown, 1501 Demonbreun Street, Nashville, TN 37203, Phone # 615-255-9977

Best Western Plus - Music Row, 1407 Division Street, Nashville, TN 37203. Phone # 615-242-1631.

**** Be careful here because there's other Best Westerns near the airport and Opryland that aren't nearly as close to all the action downtown.

If you want to research this stuff online - I recommend looking up Nashville Hotels near Bridgestone Arena. These are going to start booking up fast because Vandy's SEC opponents enjoy coming to Nashville in the Fall; and they don't want to pay all the high society prices (especially if they're students on a road trip). If I can be of any help - zip me a pm.

Well, I had never actually visited Nashville before, and didn't really know what to expect besides a bunch of live entertainment at the bars. It was that and more- I felt the locals were very welcoming. Beer prices at the bars were high, but I figured it was because the entertainers get a cut of it, so no problem.

The DawgHouse Saloon was great. Nothing like hanging out with a bunch of Browns fans on a Saturday night at a Browns Backers Bash. We did not have tickets in hand, so we wanted to get them from a scalper or Stub Hub. After having so much fun at the DawgHouse Saloon Saturday, we decided to just go back there for the game on Sunday and save a few bucks.

We were on a fall RV vacation trip, heading ultimately to Hot Springs, Arkansas and other state parks in Arkansas, so we camped about 20 miles from downtown Nashville at a COE campground at Old Hickory Lake. Our 3 days/2 nights in the area were a blast (and over hydrated lol). I'm definitely interested in going back.

Thanks for the tips on Washington DC guys.Appreciate it.

Well... the wife said she is willing to consider taking our anniversary on the road so Nashville is officially upgraded from "Doubtful" to "Questionable."

If we attend, she'll be the one in the J.J. Watt jersey.

Can't wait to see the old faces and hopefully a few new ones at the tailgate for the Cowboys game, those with iron clad livers might want to join us on the three day warm up. 164 days till me and G-Man land - not that we're counting.

Been there. No doubt the strip is fantastic. Tootsies might be my favorite bar anywhere. Roberts comes in a close 2nd. No doubt book early. When I come to town for a Preds game or a Titans game, I usually stay in West End...either the Courtyard or the Hutton. It's a easy, cheap cab ride down to Legends Corner. You are also closer to the Gulch, where you can find some really fine restaurants. Kayne Prime is one that comes to mind.

They can be very high London. You can get cheaper rates further away from the city over toward the airport (The Drury Inn - see my post on 5/28/16 page 3 for the phone # and info). Gipper also had good suggestions.

Tootsies is one of my faves too! Whenever we have family or friends visiting - we always take them to Tootsies. Rock and roll bands upstairs - country/southern rock downstairs. The atmosphere and history of the place is incredible.

Back in the day, Patsy Cline used to take a 2 minute walk down the hill from after performing at the Grand Ole Opry (now the Ryman) to enter the backdoor of Tootsies. She usually headed up the stairs to hang out with friends, patrons and listen to the bands. Other stars did the same thing but she was the most frequent. Today, it's one of Kid Rock's favorite hangouts.

Flugel, are there any good Western bars in the area that offer mechanical bull riding? You know, I was s champion rodeo'er back in the day. I bet I still got it and could last the longest out of this group! I like the Western places with chicken wire protecting the band, and a john travolta dance-a-thon.

Or a casino or horse track to make some cake at will work too. I could probably make s lot of cake riding the mechanical bull, but I doubt anyone here is up for the challenge?
