And being a long time Browns fan, I of course have high hopes of a great year. They all have ended in sad disappointment, and then have to look on to the next year. jiggins7919 Posted July 6, 2016 Report Share Posted July 6, 2016 Well, there really isn't too much to be optimistic about, and I can be PRETTY optimistic compared to many around here. I do think we actually have some "real coaches" this season, but we are so young and very dependent on the progression of a QB who was written off by every other team in the league. RG III needs to play at a decent level for us to even sniff a few wins, and that's anyone's guess as if that will happen. Our defense will be similar to last year I believe. I don't think it can be "good", but hopefully we can get some more sacks and force more turnovers. This is the SLOW time of the year, and we're basically waiting for training camp to start. This is the time of the season where nagging injuries occur, and the occasional SEVERE injury happens as well. At the same time, we get to hear about real football soon. How do we look in pads? Who stands out not only in shorts, but in full gear? Can Terrell Pryor overpower and make plays when hitting is allowed? Can RG III make quick decisions and get the ball where he's supposed to? Are any of our rookie WR's going to step up? Can our defense stop the ground game? I can list a thousand questions, and we won't have any answers for quite some time. I expect us to start off VERY slow in the preseason, as many young NFL teams would. I am hoping BEYOND hope that RG III can put together some touchdown drives in the preseason games.
