Connor Shaw Waived

:( :( :( But so much potential. Wouldn't surprise me if another team picks him up for a look-see.

Austin Powers- I mean Davis- you're next, unless they move McCown. Cutting Kessler would be virtually unheard of.

no news on who we may have picked-up either. Maybe Earnest Byner will be picked up as RB & also coach them in training camp. Cause god knows who really is our RB coach ;). When does Gordo piss again?

We now only want QBs and coaches that have hair. Bald Brian Hoyer....gone. Bald Connor Shaw....gone. Bald Mike Pettine...gone. No more hairless mole rats.

I thought Davis was better.

With limited reps all season...he stepped in and looked poised, in control and sharp........but he wasn't aware of the game clocks enough.

(he's probably next though.....as has been said)

RG3 - McCown - Kessler

RG3 will be the starter for the next year or so, McCown will back up in case of injury or rest. Kessler will come along slowly and learn the game from 2 very talented veterans. When the time is right, he'll take the reigns...

Even though many of us may have thought Shaw was better than Austin, we need to remember that this year, we have REAL Coaches evaluating players. There may be more "semi surprises" coming regarding player evaluations.

We'll see.

Connor Shaw hasn’t played in two years, yet he won this poll by an overwhelming margin overAustin Davis. To be fair, Shaw has more flexibility since the team could stash him on the practice squad, while Davis would have to make the 53-man roster in order to stick with the club.

shaw and davis both went undrafted, Davis has the benefit of being in the league three years longer...

Davis sucked vs Pittsburg with the Browns.

I can see Shaw being on the practice squad.

They cut him before training camp even started.

He's not going to be on the practice squad.

Not ours.

Could be the medical factor? 3 IR's from last season released. Ekpre-Olomu released 4-2. S. Soloman released 5-2. C. Shaw 6-31. Beware Glen Winston & R.Telfer

That did not take long..Conner Shaw reunited with Dowell Loggins & B. Hoyer (2014)..He's a Chicago Bear..Bald life's matter ;) EDIT-In a special VK tribute that "our FO is doomed"... THE SAINTS accidentally sent a email to every team in the league also at the same time to the NFL. :o Aware of their intentions & sitting ahead of them in pecking order,The Chicago Bears were able to put their own claim in on Shaw. The Saints even went as far as waiving TE Jack Tabb to make room for Shaw .. Enjoy the laugh, I did...

4th string quarterback undrafted and selected by a previous administration.

I'm shocked.

Remember when I told you it's okay if you don't like him Steve - there's probably others that feel that way too? I gotta admit I wasn't expecting Hue to be one of those others.

What? Me - get a QB wrong??? Okay, I got 2 right. Bernie Kosar and Brian Sipe. Unfortunately, Sipe was drafted all the way back in the day I was getting kicked out of Cub Scouts for eating too many Brownies. The birds and the bees lecture came after the fact.

Okay, so inevitably we're looking at:

1) RG3 - Rookie of the Year by accident or system fit? Injuries, immaturity, and coaching changes followed. Who'd we get here?

2) Josh McCown - rekindling memories of Don Strock on the gridiron between tee times.

3) Cody Kessler - He may not be the people's choice just yet but he is Hue's choice.

4) Austin Davis - Good kid w/ strong arm but he turns into Rain Man on the clock at the end of halves/games.

It's ok Flugel. We all make misstakes.

I thought Stoney Case was going to be the next Marino.

I thought Matt Barkley should've been drafted in the first rd.

I still think Jake Coker is a star in the making.

Which all of these thoughts of my feeling for RG3 dont carry any weight but I guess it's favoritism over what really happens.

LOL! Thanks man!

If I gave you my list of achey-breakie-mistakesies at QB, Zombo would trade me to some men's figure skating message board for a bag of Corn Nuts and a beverage to be named later.

Connor Shaw now a Bear. After Saints inadvertently emailed the entire league that they were grabbing him.

We usually play Bears in preseason, so maybe one more chance to see The Great One.

My dear Tommy I don't dislike the guy whatsoever. Not at all. Seem like a nice guy with a little bit of potential but like I said I just never got the love for him like some of the people around here did. I think part of it was a combination of Johnny hatred and Josh hatred. But at the end of the day it is what it is and I'm not surprised the new regime didn't keep the old regimes practice squad fodder.

I have no hatred of Austin Davis either. Nor any particular love for RG3 until he shows me something. I do like Josh McCown and would like to see him have a good season, he's got a great attitude and a lot of experience.

But I'm not expecting miracles.

LOL! Bad wording on my part Steve. I know you don't hate the guy - you already told me that.

The main reason I posted that was the irony of me seeing a future here for Shaw and less than a week later Hue saw what you saw.
