A few things to look forward to at the ballpark:

CLEVELAND -- In six days the Cleveland Indians will host the Chicago White Sox for the home opener, and crews at Progressive Field are getting ready.

More than 1,000 signs have been taken down and now 24,000 pieces of signage sporting the new Progressive Field name are being put in place.

On Tuesday, the Indians showed off the latest and greatest that Tribe fans can expect when going to the ballpark this season.

Additions this year include new alternative home jerseys, biodegradable cups, new-look hot dog mascots, and more new food choices.

Monday's game is sold out, but there are still a few standing room only tickets available.

And possibly look up towards while at the game:

Rain may factor into Tribe's opener

WINTER HAVEN, Fla. -- The not-so-Floridian temperature was in the mid-40s when the Indians stepped out of the clubhouse for workouts on Tuesday morning.

The Tribe had better get used to it.

The most recent Weather.com report for Monday's regular-season opener against the White Sox at Progressive Field calls for a high of 47 degrees, a low of 38 and a 60 percent chance of showers.

Play ball?

"I guess global warming hasn't hit Cleveland yet," Indians general manager Mark Shapiro joked. "It's not going to be sunny and 70 when we get back there. It's a matter of whether there's precipitation or not. We're going to play if it's cold."

I still can't understand why the league doesn't start off in the south 9or at Dome stadiums), buy themselves a couple of weeks before attempting to play out in the elements in the North. You would think last years fiasco would have at least stopped them from scheduling the Home opener even earlier this year.

I agree....it is goofy to not slate most of the games in the south or in a dome.....but the AL doesn't have many teams in the south or in domes.

If everybody had like minds, we would never learn.
