Hey Solon,

Wish I knew.

I've missed a few games over the past couple of weeks but it looks like Sabathia is turning it around. Caramona is struggling with his his control and he's not looking like the guy he was last year, despite his fine ERA. I guess if you told me both guys would struggle some, I'd have said the pitching staff would be in a world of hurt, but that hasn't been the case. Mainly due to Cliff Lee.

Offensively, we're pretty much middle of the pack in the AL as far as runs scored despite having the third lowest team batting average in the league. I'm confident things will turn around. there. We're seeing a league leading 3.92 pitches per plate appearance and that's always a good thing.

It doesn't look as if anyone wants the Division. With the Chisox 1 game over .500 and the Tribe looking like crap a few games out, it may turn around quicker than we think.

Our nemesis the Tigers are looking tough. I can't see the Indians winning head to head against them this year. They're already starting to crush the ball and their pitching is coming around. Cleveland will need 92 wins to pull it off, I think they can do it as summer arrives.

Big question: when do you trade CC? He's gone, it's factual. Do you wait til the A.S. break when teams are scrambling or trade him now and settle in with a new staff for the continuity of a late season run?

Either way he has to be dealt to replenish a weakened farm system. It was great watching the stay puff man throw. I don't coun't on Dolan throwing enough dough at him to keep him in Cleveland.

I don't know that it's factual, but it appears that he'll be elsewhere next year.

As for when to trade him, my answer is just about never. They'd have to be 8+ games out of the wild card spot at the deadline for me to even consider dealing the big fella. Can't see that happening.

If he leaves as free agent, we'll bag a couple of picks in the draft and that sure as hell better help the farm system.

Knowing your dislike for anything Dolan, I'll turn it around - do you think it'd be wise for Dolan to throw enough dough CC's way to keep him around for several years?

I'm out in Texas too....had to spring for the MLB.tv

anyway, the stats pretty much tell the story in this year. CC has been terrible (although he'll have a few Cy Sabathia-calibur innings here and there). Lee has been unquestionably the best pitcher on the staff. Bullpen is shaky, never know if they'll go 3 shutout innings our give up 5 runs in 0.1.

The offense is a lot like last year. In a dry spell right now but they always have the ability for a huge inning. Too many players on our roster can put the bat on the ball for us to be considered a bad offensive team. Sizemore is finally coming around and Delucci has been surprising in a good way.

This is pretty obvious stuff I know but really I don't think anything wild is happening right now, just typical Tribe to me.

And I'm with Beans on the CC deal. If we could get someone with Upton-level potential than of course I make the deal. But a guy like Carlos Gomez (Santana trade) just doesn't seem worth it. Make one more run, take the draft picks, hope one or more of Sowers/Laffey/Miller pans out. I like the team's odds.
