Top of the 4th and Fausto has faced Guerrero twice and put him away twice. Hopefully they can generate some opening day-like offense and get an opening series win against the Angels.

I was hoping for a no-hitter, but that wish didn't make it out of the 3rd inning.

Wow - tight 5th inning for Fausto. Bases loaded with two outs, but he made it out of the inning. Come on Tribe score some runs!

Tied 1-1 in the bottom of the 8th Bentancourt gave up a homerun. Once again, pretty good pitching tonight but no bats. What is going on? It is like the whole MLB has been turned upside down this year.

Yeah, what a downer. I went to bed after Bentancourt gave up a lead off homerun in the bottom of the 8th (it was about 12:30AM here in DC), just to wake up and find out that the Tribe rallied to take the lead in the 9th only to have Borowski let the win slip away.

What is going on this year in MLB? Up is down and down is up. I hope they get their bats going soon or the Tigers are going to catch them.

While it's not over yet, the kitties are being shutout by the Bosox in the 6th - giving them 15 runs in (almost) 7 games.

They're too good to continue at that level, but man are they ever underwhelming so far.

I did the same exact thing.

Couldn't believe they came back against Rodriguez only to see Borowski gag at the end.

I still think we need a closer, Borowski is not one, everytime I see him come in to save a game, I cringe.

He's okay in low leverage situations.

He's never fantastic, but I can live with the guy coming in to get 3 outs with the bases empty and a 2 or 3 run lead. Sure beats the alternative of him coming in with runners on in the 8th in a close game.

There's been a lot of talk on other boards about his velocity being down this year (from like a high of 88 on his fastball last year to ~85 this season) and that spells trouble in any situation.

Bud Shaw wrote about this today. He included the confusing logic that it's only 7 games and that it's impossible to judge someone (Borowski) based on that little time. The confusion comes in when he follows that with:

Rafael Betancourt would be the first option. How's his April going? Exactly. His outings have been bombs bursting in air, too.

Yay for consistency!

Yeah, so far so good. Tigers go down again and start off the season 0-7. Now is the time to put some distance between them and the Tribe. I don't think KC will hold out, but the White Sox have looked good so far. Could be a tight AL Central race this year.
