The Royals

Shutout on Consecutive Sundays 1-0 2-0

Giving away ab's

Gil Meche ..... Gil flippin Meche

4 hits yesterday all singles

In the series 2 runs on 8 hits batting .136

Against the flippin ROYALS

Enough is Enough

Ben Francisco will be called up in time for the Yankee series starting Tuesday night in NY

Does Michaels get DFA'd or will it be Marte who doesn't even play?

Hopefully more is coming, this team is becoming unwatchable

Brian Roberts name is being mentioned more and more in connection with the Indians

In Detroit

Contrary to what others are saying The Tigers pitching isn't coming around, The Tigers are 0-15 when scoring 4 or less runs

But the Tigers are looking to shake things up also after being swept by the Twins over the weekend

They have Boston coming in tonight and have promised some major changes in their lineup versus the Red Sox

From the Freep

Declaring that he's "shocked" by his team's inconsistent offense and that he at times finds it "tough to watch," Jim Leyland said Sunday that he will shake up the lineup tonight against Boston.

The Tigers manager said his revised lineup will feature shuffling, but not any new players from off the bench or elsewhere.

"Same pieces, but quite a bit different (in the order they hit)," Leyland said. "I think you'll find it pretty drastic

More of the Quote from the story Tell me if this doesn't sound like he could also be talking about the Tribe

"We're tough to watch play sometimes," Leyland said. "We can lull you to sleep sometimes. I can live with that. But that's why we've got to hit. We've got to hit the ball in the gaps and stuff like that. ...

Leyland added:

"I don't want to come off like I'm disappointed in my players or in the effort. That's not true.

"It just seems like for whatever reason up to this point -- and I don't know why -- that we haven't had that sense of urgency that you need.

"It's almost like, 'We win a couple, and it's OK if we lose a couple.' That's not good enough.

"I'm not mad at anybody. I don't think there's anybody in here that's not trying. It's just not that extra kick in the (butt) that gets us over the hump. I think it will happen. I will be very disappointed if it doesn't. ...

"We're a very capable team. We have a very good club. I mean, I'm shocked, really."

And then in Chicago

Same old Same old

Ozzie being Ozzie

From Chicago Sports

"Right now everyone in Chicago is making lineups -- 'Call up this guy, call up that guy.' ... If we had 50 people allowed on the roster, we could do that. That's what ticks me off about Chicago fans and Chicago media: They forget pretty quickly. A couple of days ago we were the [bleeping] best [stuff] in town. Now we're [bleep]," Guillen said to the aforementioned Chicago media before the game.

Guillen observed that Chicago still loved the Cubs, even though they have not won a World Series since 1908, but the White Sox -- winners of the 2005 World Series -- did not receive the same affectionate support.

"We won it a couple years ago, and we're horse[bleep]," Guillen said, according to the Chicago Tribune. "The Cubs haven't won in [100] years, and they're the [bleeping] best. [Bleep] it, we're good. [Bleep] everybody. We're horse[bleep], and we're going to be horse[bleep] the rest of our lives, no matter how many World Series we win.

"We are the [bleep] of Chicago. We're the Chicago [bleep]. We have the worst owner [Jerry Reinsdorf]. The guy's got seven [bleeping] rings, and he's the [bleeping] horse[bleep] owner."

No kidding? I haven't read that but it'd make sense. Actually, I thought we acquired our Brian Roberts when we traded for Barfield. Shows what I know.

The elephant in the room - both our room and the one in Detroit - is Bonds. I know Shapiro included his name in the "doesn't make sense" list of players he's looked at, but it was encouraging to learn that he's kicked the tires and at least looked.

Next step involves signing the papers and driving him into LF. Hell, DH is an option given the way Pronk is playing.

I seriously want the guy - badly.

I don't want anything to do with Bonds, the guy is a clubhouse cancer and can keep his steroided, crabby ass out of Cleveland. Mad

I'd bet that at least a third of the fan base agrees with you.

Probably closer to half.

And I'd bet that all but 5% of them would be cheering his ass when he goes deep for the first time while in an Indians uni.

I'd be in the 5%... Smile

The negatives of him outweigh the positives by far. He is a horrible teamate who alienates the rest of the guys on his team, and the negative publicity that he would generate, is not what the Tribe needs.

This may well be true. I have no idea how he'd "play" with Cleveland fans.

I guess I just think that we've had our version of Bonds (Belle) and he did just fine with the locals. We as a fan base tend to wrap our arms around "our own" just so long as they help us win.

I'm certain Bonds would help us win.
