Brady Quinn and the Browns 09' second round pick to the Phins for the #1 pick...would it work and do you like it?

And could you picture the Browns offense w/Darren McFadden as the RB next season???

Hate it. Why are we so desperate to unload a QB? We don't need a running back. He's not worth the money. We've got Jamal for the next few years and he really fits the system. We have two guys behind him who I think will really come along.

This is the second or 3rd time I've seen a post about McFadden and the Browns.

IMO, no. If we wanted a RB, the time to get him was last year when Peterson was available.

Otherwise, we are set a RB with Lewis, Wright, and Harrison.

No and no.

As Inspecta said that essentially puts all our eggs in one basket and I really don't think we need a high pick anymore.

Since I live in Philadelphia,
Once upon a time eagles fans were furious that their team took Mcnabb instead of Ricky Williams.

Its good to have two quarterbacks that you like.

But I would argue that you should always be looking for a running back because they wear out so fast. If Jamal has another year in him like last year I will be surprised.

I think the Browns can draft a runner this year. Its just picking the right one.

I gotta admit, Jamal looked pretty darned good by the end of last season. I can see him having 3 more like that IF he stays healthy... the tough part at this level is staying healthy.

Back to the original question. The Brown's need both of these guys for a year. If DA improves and has a rockin' good year then Quinn becomes expendible, if he craps out and Quinn does well then he's expendible, if DA does like last year, or gets an injury and Quinn comes in and performs little to no better, they're probably both here for an open competition in the fall of '09 before the team brass makes the decision.

We've got two behind Jamal. This is not a need.

I agree. Maybe we can start a thread where we all come up with all the trade possibilities we can think of.....the dumber the better.

Ummm NO and NO!

BQ needs more playtime to make his value go up and when he gets to play he is going to own DA BQ has more smarts more mobile more accurate...thats why RAC refused to play quinn last year he will make DA look bad and start a real fan based press controversy once he is playing in pre-season..

No trades until we get who is what sorted out first..
We just need to eat the unsavory taste of no day one draft this year and pick wisely in the 4th rd...

HaHA It doesn't matter if your a fan of BQ or DA ... no one on this board will think of that trade..... i can deal with DA being on the team, hell i can deal with him starting this year (something that was imposible three days ago...) but only because BQ is standing behind him .... waiting to come in during the second quarter of week 1....

You could live in Arizona.

Well, I heard from a drunken Steeler fan the other day that the Browns were so stupid that they would choose DA over Quinn and trade Brady so yeah, this could be true.

Does anyone know that the Browns can't afford another even top ten pick? Only if they relieved some cap space.

Scuttlebutt out of Miami: Joe Thomas and Quinn for their first and Jason Taylor, which the Browns would use to take Dorsey. This way, they could have three Dorsey's on the team and really solidify that Dline. The Dolphins may include Ronnie Brown if we threw Andra Davis in there, Tuna loves him and JT, plus he thinks Quinn could be better than Beck.

the #1 is a curse 2yy4u, not a positive. you have to cough up like 60 mil or more on a guy who is bang or bust.
besides, what have we gained at QB except more uncertainty.
we're finally gonna lock up the helm position not create more areas of concern.

if K2 and BE hadn't gotten hurt in their rookie seasons and if BQ had started we might be over the cap ourselves right now. think about it.

last thing, he cost a #1 & #2 to get, plus him and another #2 to dump back for one pick? and for a guy with his pedigree you want to trade sight unseen?

chances are your next jersey will probably say Quinn on the back so maybe you wanna reconsider.

Derek Anderson.........making Brady Quinn better by the hour. who will be, 'the last man standing'?

And in Cleveland, they rejoiced because their team took Tim Couch instead of Ricky Williams. Mixed bag, all things considered.

Dennis
You can't use the Eagles fans as a baseline, IMO--if polled, 50% would still probably wish the team had taken Williams.
