I was sent this from a friend - anyone have any idea where this interview is from? Man, I hope it's good...

Excerpt from Interview with Steelers NT, Casey Hampton:

Q: How about your boy Shaun Rogers going to Cleveland?
A: It’s going to be ugly. Remember that: It’s going to be ugly. He’s motivated. We hang out all the time; that’s my boy and he’s motivated and pissed off.
Q: You have a new center. Won’t that help?
A: Hmm. I don’t know man. He’s got something to prove. He’s happy to be out of Detroit, so he’s motivated. Really, I don’t see how you make that trade. If I was running the show over there, he’d be unhappy but on the team. I think what was happening was they wanted him to be a leader and he didn’t want to be a leader. He said he’d play hard and give them all he got, but they wanted more. They wanted him to be vocal, be that guy. Some guys can’t, and there’s nothing wrong with that as long as they give it to you on Sunday. They thought that calling him out in front of the team and stuff like that would do something, but that (stuff) makes him go in the opposite direction. You can’t do him like that. He knows what he’s doing out there. You can’t call him out. He’s the best damn player on defense. You know what I mean? It’s crazy.
Q: I heard he’s 370 and did a 10-foot broad jump.
A: He’s not 370. He’s 350.
Q: What’s he like motivated?
A: You can’t stop him. He’s the best in the league. You can’t stop him. It’s going to be ugly. I’m telling you, it’s going to be ugly. When that boy wants to play he can’t be stopped.
Q: What do you think of the other defensive tackle they signed, Corey Williams?
A: I don’t know. The jury’s still out on him from what I hear in Cleveland, so I don’t know. They ain’t saying he’s a savior. We’ll see.
Q: Does Shaun call you?
A: No. Me and Shaun hang out almost every day at home. First of all, when they were saying he’s going to Cincinnati, he called me right when I was watching that on TV and he said no he’s going to Cleveland.
Q: Can you believe he only cost them a third-round pick?
A: That’s ridiculous. They got a great player for that. He’s playing the end and he plays the nose on pass downs. But he’ll be hard to stop when he gets that 350 pounds coming off the end. You should see his arms. They’re this big. He’s huge these days.

This post is hardly relevant since the Steelers o-line is so talented this year. Casey Hampton has no idea what it takes to be a good d-lineman or NT in this league.

I love this....sooooooo much. I'm praying that Rogers stays motivated. This could be a fun year. Nothing would MOTIVATE me more than seeing Ben go down over and over, Parker lose 2-3 yards at a pop consistently, Steeler lineman with hands on hips looking to the sky while Ben picks himself up off the ground and Wines Hard smileless behind a veil of tears.....just for starters....

Won't happen, man. The Steelers faithful says that their o-line is good to go...and they know football. Of course they said the same thing last year, but now they have Hartwig! See?

Hey, our O-line blows. No question, but the rest of the team is good enough to sweep yinz and win the conference.

One thing them Stillers are usually good at is filling gaps with non-descript players and using schemes to make up for weaknesses.

I really don't care what other Stiller fans think about Ben and his sacks, anyone who watched the Stillers last year saw Ben getting rushed at will and it was Ben's ability to make plays under that duress.

Additionally, I don't care what stains fans think about the personnel that we added to the offense during the draft. Once they get their legs, they will add value and give the O-line opportunities to perform better just by the nature of what they bring to the table.

The fact that yinz spin it negatively validates the fact that yinz know the potential that is there, however be it unproven at this point - and it scares yinz.

So, just like last year when yinz were predicting wins by them stains over the Stillers - the proof will be had on the field.

Enjoy the offseason while it lasts, your hopes will soon be dashed, right around mid September by my reckoning.

Feel free to re-hit that ignore button there, cleft lip.

Then you can go back to posting after I do with a different topic just to show everyone that you're 'ignoring' me.

It adds drama.

Nah, I wouldn't call it aggravated. I thought that they should have used their #3 and #4 picks last year on OL rather than a punter and TE. However this year, there was no value when our name was called at the draft, so they took the BPA.

And the value.

I'm not the sky-is-falling type. They'll get by without beefing up the line because that's what great teams do. The fact that they didn't panic during the draft and reach for a player or trade to get one shows that there is a formula at work, and it's effective.

Plus, the fact that they didn't go out in FA and waste value on getting a stud or two is another smart move. There is little value in FA, but it's there.

DL and WR were needs, although RB wasn't - but getting Mendenhall where we did is a gift.

Your FO ought to take note.

Rogers is going to get his nuts off playing in Cleveland.

This defense is going to be badass.

The worry of the Browns should be whether this team is sustainable over the period of a decade or so, instead of doing what the Bengals did and shoot for a season or two...and then fall deep back into the hole.

having two QB's is smart... and shows a look to the future... if one gets hurt, you have the other one.

However, some of the other picks are a little worrisome only for cap limits down the road a couple years. If the Browns FO was smart, they will draft to replace most of the FA's they got last year and this year, and then cut the FA's in a couple years. That way they don't get into salary cap hell.

First of all, we're VERY young, so I am not sure what you mean about not being sustainable. Maybe you should research our team before you make that statement.

Second, we're in outstanding shape regarding the cap. Notice how players we don't want to pay take pay cuts to stay here? That's because Savage knows what he is doing.

Talk about old? All of you starting DL is over 30 come kickoff.

I kinda agree except for the two QB's thing.

I expect Anderson to be a flash in the pan, and they would do well to trade him now while his stock is high. Queen is the guy that they've invested their future in, and if he's not starting by the end of this year, that could be a problem.

Anderson went through the honeymoon period that most QB's do when they hit the spotlight. Just a guy with some talent that nobody cares about, has a good year. Now he's on the radar and teams will be watching film and then their production drops.

Now, great QB's (like Roethlisberger) go through that down phase but bounce back to high productivity levels. Even if Anderson does this (and who knows if he will), the stains will still have two starting QB's on their roster - and while that might not be a bad thing on the surface, it adds little value to have talent riding the pine.

Purge it off for someone who can make an impact.

If Anderson tanks or even drops his productivity, which is likely IMO, his trade value drops. Then yinz get an overpaid backup.

That's a good point Preacher, and we understand that. You know quite a bit about the Browns, but probably not as much as most of us do, which works vice versa. Savage has addressed this issue just recently in the Browns Backers meeting. They went over the future cap with Trip Mcracken, our capoligist. They have anywhere from 25 to 30 million next year to spend, but they are already looking to the future as to re-signing current players who will be coming due. The amount should be the same for 2010, but we still don't know what is going to happen with the cap and labor agreement. If this thing becomes unlimited spending for awhile, Lerner has as much dough as anybody in the league.

Either way, Savage is all about the draft. He knows you build and maintain through the draft, he just got creative lately because he knew the lines on both sides of the ball needed major overhauls. The drafts are set for years to come to groom replacements and affter this season one of the QB's is most likely going to garner two more first day picks.

See, this team is not a Dan Snyder in waiting, they actually get it. Savage did say that he is looking at 2010 to be the point where the team needs to win now, but he also is steadfast on maintaining continuity across the board.

The Browns also GET the character issue, and draft accordingly. This is completely diffenet form the losing philosophy in Cincy. One of the key components Phil looks for is how guys interview, they don't want any disrespectful dummies. Look at Joe Thomas and Kam Wimbley for example, those are two rock solid young men he chose in the first round, and Braylon is really turning into a great team player and stud WR.

Make no mistake about it, the Browns know what they are doing now. All those years when Pitt could just keep plugging guys into their system is pretty much where the Browns are going to be starting next year.

It's called baiting.

Just something to get the stains lemmings all lathered up and full of piss and wind...... then the fall.

What, you think someone like Hampton is going to say this guy sucks in an interview?

No wonder the WWF is so popular. The mental masturbation works in certain markets.

In April? Yeah right. Notice how he didn't have your new centers back when they asked about the signing. First FWP does not give Hartwig a ringing endorsement, and now Hampton.

LOL.....you fookers drink a lot of the kool aid, I will say that.
