Pittsburgh fans only follow their town's teams if they are winning (see the Penguins before Crosby and the Pirates).

I think what Chuck means is that every Steelers fan is a bandwagoner and some are just too dense to realize it.

Pittsburgh still is the home of the worst franchise in professional sports. 15 straight losing seasons for the Pirates. That is even worse than the string of losing seasons the Bengals put together in the 90's.

What an honor to be a Pittsburgh fan...what an honor. Give me a break!

Yep, the Pirates suck ass.

Works out good since I can't stand MLB. I dig football and hockey.

And I thank God every day that we have the Stillers here and yinz have the stains there.

Your jealousy is overwhelming.

Yet another convenient argument. Before Sid the Kid you only followed the NFL, right?

Nope, sorry Gene - been going to Pens games since the 70's when I was a kid.

The city should have left the Pirates go to some other city and built a new arena for the Pens instead of PNC park. I've been saying that since they opened it.

Just because yinz follow a crappy team religiously doesn't make yinz any better football fans than Stiller fans.

Case in point - what cities broadcast pleas to ticketholders to not sell them to Browns fans when the stains play on the road? How many Browns bars are there in other cities compared to the overwhelming number of Stiller bars everywhere?

You're more likely to see a Steeler jersey in another town than a Stains jersey, unless that stains jersey is on the bargain rack at WalMart.

Nobody is questioning stains fans loyalty on Stiller boards, partly because we don't care, but mostly because we know the real story.

We don't have to go on the defense in that respect. Why do yinz?

I only see Steeler fans around after a playoff or Super Bowl appearance. Other than that I run into fans from just as many other NFL teams everywhere I go. I didn't see too many Steeler fans out and about after the '06 season other than those in Western PA.

Yeah, lots of people like the Red Sox and Lakers when they are winning too. Doesn't make me want to be one of them either. The only thing your statement proves is my previous point and that your fan base prides itself on bandwagoners. If that is the way you roll...go for it!

Hey - don't blame me because you live a secluded life.

Turn the TV on during a Stiller road game and count how many times the announcers talk about how many terrible-towel waiving Stiller fans are in attendance regardless of the proximity to Western PA.

Better yet, go to the stains game against them Stillers in dirty, dirty Cleveland and see for yourself. I'll be there, maybe we could hook up for a beer.

I'll be the one with the Roethlisberger jersey and the shit-eating grin watching stains fans trying to avoid eye contact after the Stillers lay a thumping on yinz.

Yeah, I've been in that position before.

You mean you're comparing the Steeler bars (not sure what team the Stillers are..I'm guessing you're just showing off that Pittspuke education) to the world wide phenomenom that is the Browns Backers? The largest world wide fan club of any professional sports team? The Browns Backers fan club is widely recognized as the largest fan club of any professional sports team world wide.

Oh yeah, the fudgepackers club.

True fans don't need to carry cards to affirm their loyalty.

Chuck: Hey - don't blame me because you live a secluded life.

Reply: Let's see I've lived in OH, PA, TN, KY, AL, GA, CA, now DC and have lived in China been to every country in East Asia (minus the DPRK) - Yeah, I live a secluded life...you got me!

Chuck: Turn the TV on during a Stiller road game and count how many times the announcers talk about how many terrible-towel waiving Stiller fans are in attendance regardless of the proximity to Western PA.

Reply: Obnoxious fans waving yellow napkins does not qualify the fan base as a good one.

Chuck: Better yet, go to the stains game against them Stillers in dirty, dirty Cleveland and see for yourself. I'll be there, maybe we could hook up for a beer.

Reply: Nope. Won't be there this year, but I have a feeling you are going to need to drink all the beer you can get your hands on.

Chuck: I'll be the one with the Roethlisberger jersey and the shit-eating grin watching stains fans trying to avoid eye contact after the Stillers lay a thumping on yinz.

Reply: Roethlisberger jersey? No surprise there. Shit-eating grin? What you do with your friend who wears a Kordell Stewart jersey in the men's stall is your business. Avoiding eye-contact? Noone likes to see a grown man in a XXXXL football jersey cry. As far as the "thumping" I think you mean the whipping your O-line is going to take for 4 quarters.

Chuck: Yeah, I've been in that position before.

Reply: Once again, what you do with your friend wearing the Stewart jersey is none of my business.

Watch and observe as Cleveland fans teach you how to win the division with class. Get a notebook. The lesson starts on week 2.

Down here in WPB, FL there is exactly one (1) Steelers bar...and amazingly enough it is called Rooneys....oh yeah, and it just CLOSED!!!

There are about 5 bars that I know of within 10 miles that host Browns clubs or Browns Backers.

As for Steelers shirts...I don't see any, and yet I am always seeing Browns stickers/shirts/hats around here. And I get TONS of GO BROWNS every time I wear my gear.

Guess that is just because I have led a secluded life...oh yeah...um...I have lived in OH/TX/MA/FL/CA and Korea!!!

Quality Points (QP): The total of victories of the teams you beat - the number of losses of the teams you lost to.
Road Win (RW): 6pts
Home Win (HW): 5pts
Point Differential (PD): 2% of teams total point differential
Total Games (TG): the number of games played by the team

Power Score = (QP+RW+HW+PD)/TG

Your point is well taken Mark except for one flaw in the World Wide Browns Backers..........once you join you can never quit even if you are dead..........so the magnitude of the club is somewhat of a hoax. However, it is indeed one of largest backers clubs in the sporting world and once had big participation in a lot of cities maybe that will come back some day.

For Shep......spoken by a true fan of freedom democracy, the Browns and Steelers, me!.......and currently a democrat because the republican party stands for NOTHING(at the present time! Maybe a Eisenhower or Teddy will come back and give it some moral social and ethical and fiscal sanity).

I'm still waiting to hear how the Browns are missing this great leadership that Slick Willie is showing from Die hard Soldier.

Not saying that all leadership is missing, but the connection to the identity of the team and it's past.

I'M NOT A GREEN BAY FAN! However, lets use them as an example.

(I'm going to say something good about another team, however, I am a Browns fan)

You can tie this team to the great Packer teams (still like the Browns better) of the 1960's. Someone has played with someone who was on the team when someone else was on the roster when Bart Star was the QB.

(disclaimer: I want the Browns to win when they play the Packers)

That's all I was saying. In my opinion, the team leaving, and as many free agents we have signed (I know we had to in order to improve the team due to past bad drafting...not critical of Phil S., or RAC, I'm a Browns fan) has removed that tie to Jim Brown (best running back ever, Love the Browns) Lou the Toe, or for that matter, Bernie.

Go Browns.

Not for me. For some.

And Jim Brown works for the Browns, which is pretty cool.

I'm trying to figure out why someone who is a supposed Browns fan would call himself "The Soldier" on a Browns message board. The term itself is demeaning to one of our greatest players and is a direct slap in the face for his infamous rant. Quite simply, it's something a rival's fan would call him, plain and simple. Add to that each post seems to have some reference to how great the Steelers are.

This while the optimism around Browns Town is at a fever pitch and everything seems to be coming together.

Still smells like salmon to me.

Oh, that's beautiful.

Yinz even have to pad your fanbase to stack up to the Stillers.

Largest club, huh? Unfortunately Ben Franklin and Christopher Columbus are still active members.

What a riot.
