Doerschuck talked about McGinest's opportunity to mentor Alex Hall this season. The Browns picked Hall over Vince Redd as The Raw Young Kid with McGinest's Body (RYKMB, for short).

Hall has huge hands and a long wingspan to go with the 6'5" frame, and the Browns saw more raw athleticism in his than in the more heralded small schooler, Redd.

Like Paul Hubbard, Hall is really a 2009 pick. And like Hubbard, the team liked what they saw at the rookie camp.

Interesting to watch. You miss, it's no big deal. You hit... it's huge. The Browns had all that extra time to spend on diamonds in the rough, so it makes it so intriguing.

I thought they hit on Justin Hamilton in 06 too, but I still don't know whatever happened to that guy.

Hall is very intriguing.

Gotta love them Beavers....

I would think this guy never cracks the starting lineup for this team. I would rather have had Redd.

He doesnt have to crack the starting lineup to ever be what we want out of him...a guy to come in on third and long to get after the QB

I get that, but I would really like a starting OLB to do that, and not have a need for a "specialist" to come in. I keep hearing that Bell cannot play the pass too well, and that he'll come out on obvious passing downs. Okay, but he is going to have to play the pass sooner or later, just like Wimbley.

Oh well, I don't expect much out of Hall. He was a 7th rounder and if he plays ST's well it would have been worth it.

It's interesting that Savage selected Hall OVER Redd... on purpose. By choice. And I like his instincts.

The position Bell was drafted for is a 2-down ILB and run stuffer... something of VITAL importance to the team. He was probably the best in the draft at that very thing, too.

If it wasn't him coming out, it would be whoever starts in that position. Jackson CAN cover.

I remember the worry about wimbley was he could only rush the passer and couldn't cover. Guess what, he learned. The rap on vickers was his weakness was blocking. Guess what, he learned.

Bell can hit like a truck and guess what, He'll learn to cover.

That's what coaching is about.................

Patrick Starfish might have to learn to walk and chew gum first, and that might be pushing it.
