Numbers Retired and hangs in the rafters

Yeesh. As the movie trailer goes, "In a world gone mad."

In the bar he owns, Marvin Harrison argues with a guy. The guy leaves and Marvin Harrison follows... and shoots the guy. Hits him in the hand and shattering glass injures a girl.

He was seen going after the guy and the bullet matches Harrison's rather exotic gun.

That's not quite as gross as punching a woman in the face... but it puts you in jail for a lot longer. Assault with a deadly weapon?

Yikes. See ya.

A little more:

A source told WIP that ballistic tests showed the shots were fired from a custom-made Belgian weapon, and police determined Harrison owns that kind of gun.

Police went to a Philadelphia car wash owned by Harrison and questioned him about the gun, the station said. Harrison acknowledged owning such a weapon, but told officials it never left his suburban Philadelphia home, the radio station reported.

The source told the station a gun was discovered in a bucket at the car wash, and tests showed it had fired bullets that matched those at the scene.

One of the last guys in the NFL you'd think would be involved in such a thing.

Amazing.

Isn't Marvin a little bit too old to be acting like this?

When will these people learn... act like adults, not like dirt.

This is all according to a ESPN source. I will wait for the Police report following an investigation. Could have been a two-way shooting range, which does not make it better. Could have been a number of things not reported. Like I said, I will wait for the police to investigate before I pass judgement.

Actually, yes, it is somewhat...not to mention that it was a custom piece. So I would say that qualifies as exotic.

Belgian handguns are pretty common in the US. I know 2 people with Belgian's and I don't have a lot of friends with handguns. Custom could mean the barrel or the ammo.

1. "Pretty common" doesn't mean it isn't "exotic." And I would say that, relatively speaking, Belgian sidearms are far from "pretty common" in the US.

2. It was the piece that was custom, not the load.

The bottom line is that he didn't shoot him with a Ruger GP or the likes, and arguing over whether one draws the line for "exotic" at Porsche or Saleen is a bit silly.

This is a weird freaking corner I hang out on.

A custom made Belgian gun isn't exotic?

Yikes. You gotta have a gun in every drawer, man.

So DD... what is it you love most about guns? Pulling the trigger or seeing the damage?

I am not going to argue over the word "exotic" Shep. Just because you never heard of Belgian models before does not mean others have not. Besides, using a term like exotic to describe a handgun is a little unconventional if you ask me. Nobody I know describes a gun as exotic. Must be the wierd blcok I hang out on.

What do I love most about guns? None of your business. Just because you cannot handle yourself around a weapon and do not understand anything about them does not mean the rest of us need to suffer your ignorance.

OK...after conferring with the Rules and Regulations Committee I would like to officially announce our ruling on the definition of an "exotic" firearm here on the Browns Board:

Any firearm that cannot be found in the armory locker room of the Cincitucky Bungles shall be deemed "exotic."

Settled.

Update: 5 of the 6 shells came from Harrison's gun, which was in his possession.

Harrison and the victim were actually in a fistfight prior to the shooting. Now another man has called and said he, too, was shot by Harrison in the altercation.

Harrison spent four hours in custody and denied that he shot anybody. But when somebody you fought with gets shot by your gun, you'll have to do a little better than that.

Unless Harrison can point to someone else who used his gun to shoot a guy he fought with, he'll be charged very soon. And this one is very serious.

You shoot at someone five times, you were trying to kill him. And that's attempted murder.

Was someone trying to shoot at him? That is the question I have. That is a pretty horrible neighborhood. I am not making excuses for Marvin - he doesn't care what happens to me and I don't care what happens to him - I just want to wait for the police report to come out.

Maybe he thought it was a paintball gun.

Absolute last person I would have thought of being involved in something like this.

PS: It's neither pulling the trigger or the damage - I enjoy the reaction of people who think the 2nd Amendment is any less important than the other 9 in the Bill of Rights, and that think the police are supposed to protect us.

Killing people does come a close second, though. Nothing like the smell of fresh blood and brains to keep the heart healthy and the mind sharp.
