So supposedly Danny Ferry has been trying to work a deal to bring in Mike Bibby for the past few weeks, and now word has it that the Cavs are in the running for Jason Kidd.

With Kidd's contract at 19 million, I don't think we'll be able to make a package to send to New Jersey that wouldn't be too much to give up. We'd have to send Hughes AND Gibson, or something like that. Bibby is a little cheaper, but I still don't know that I see it happening...

1. With Andy being out for a few weeks now, we won't be able to deal Gooden until he gets back. And with Andy always getting hurt, are we sure we want him as our starting 4 without much depth?

2. Now that we're winning, that gives the Cavs upper management an excuse not to make a move. Though anyone with a brain knows no matter how much we go on these little win streaks, Detroit and Boston will still be superior.

3. It's Cleveland. That Cavs just don't make big trades, or sign REAL big free agents.

(Please God, Danny Ferry prove me wrong.) I'd be really intrigued to see how LeBron plays not only with an all-star point guard, but with a point-guard who demands the ball.

Ok, so today there have been a few articles in the ABJ and Plain Dealer coming out saying how LeBron is virtually begging Danny Ferry to bring in Jason Kidd. 23 thinks Jason Kidd makes them in instant championship team. I guess that really will change the complexion at least a little bit.

But still...Brian Windhorst called the Cavs "an underdog at best" to get Jason Kidd.

I was against the idea of giving up Gibson to get anyone but now that Lebron came out and said this, I think Ferry has to take a "whatever it takes" attitude. We all know when Lebron's contract ends and that keeping him happy is priority #1. This was shown in the Mike Brown extension. Now that Lebron came out and said this, Ferry has no choice. Gotta get it done.

I hope we don't just unload the whole team to bring him in. I mean, if we trade Gooden, Hughes, and Gibson, that's just way too much. Two of the 3 even feels like quite a bit.

BTW, I just thought about this, how the hell is Z going to fit in an that runs at a Jason Kidd pace?

Trade HIS ass, start Andy at the 5 and drew at the 4.

To me, it's plain to see. Lebron is the only player on this team worth a damn.

If he wants Kidd, trade everyone it takes to get him. Last night's game was a clear indicator that regardless of who is playing, we will win games with Lebron playing. He was directly responsible for more than half of our points.

Can you honestly say to me that if we lost any one player on our team, that it would make a big difference? Or any two or even any three? If we lost Z and Gooden, we'd stick Dwayne Jones, Andy and Donyell in there and Lebron would win the game for us every time.

Lebron is the only, single, one player that matters on this team. We've seen it when he got hurt and we lost 6 games, and we see it every time we've won in the last month.

Everyone else is expendable. I'd trade them all.

PS. Stromile Swift is available too :P Love that bastard.

Only Boobie, Andy, Lebron and Z have a positive Roland Rating on this team. Everyone else is just trade filler and won't make an impact here, there, or anywhere in the NBA.

Look at the stats. They don't lie.

Players like Lebron and Kidd are the ones that make things go.
The Celtics have 3 superstars (well, 2, Allen is just good) and a supporting cast of turds and they're 35-8. If we could somehow get Kidd without trading Boobie I think we'd win it all. Lebron makes everyone around him better. These other players go to another team and they're garbage because they won't get the open looks that Lebron gives them. If anything he's bloated everyone else on the roster's trade value (and contracts, probably), so we should be able to land someone like Kidd. Ferry hopefully realizes the team without lebron would probably have difficulty winning games in the NBDL.

We need to get one or the other Bibby or Kidd, The main reason is that Lebron is already looking at New York as is future home so we have 3 or 4 years to enjoy the ride then the King is gone......

He'll stay if we put a serious contender around him. No real reason to go. He physically can't make any more money than he already is. They'd have to mint extra just for him.

Holy crap, did the Lakers just pull one off, huh? Pau Gasol for draft picks and Kwame Brown? Are you freaking kidding me?

A starting lineup of Fischer, Bryant, Odom, Gasol, and Bynum (when he's back). Farmar, Vujacic (becoming a star). Walton, Turiaf off the bench.

I smell a Lakers-Celtics final.

I've been reading the Grizzlies boards alot, they're basically getting rid of all the big contracts on the team so that they can sell the franchise to a new owner and have a bunch of draft picks and expiring contracts on board for the new owner. That way the buyer can decide what direction he wants to take the team. Firesale.

Yeah, they have visions of Trailblazers dancing in their heads.

Wisdom was you can't win with kids. Portland's doing it AND they get Oden next year. They'll be phenomenal.

Yeah the Blazers are looking deadly. Not to mention Darius Miles is almost back and seems like a changed man. If they're lucky he'll be a 10-5-2block off the bench kinda guy.
