Talk about opposites. The Celtics literally grinded their way to the championship. The Lakers flew.

The Celtics have home court, though. It's a total clash of styles.

Great stuff. I'll say the Cavs are only one player from being every bit as good as the Celtics and Pistons. Maybe that players is Michael Redd.

This is going to be a fun freaking series to watch.

They're so opposite I don't have a clue what to expect.

2008 Prediction

11-5, Division Winners.

Lose in divisional round to San Diego.

The teams are pretty evenly matched talent-wise, buy it doesn't seem too hard to predict the winner....

Phil Jackson vs. Doc Rivers - pretty laughable.

Young, athletic, deep, fresh Lakers vs. old, poorly coached, tired Boston.

I don't expect this one to be close...

Celtics physically beat up the Lakers in regular season, but that was before Pau "34-8" Gasol came along. One of the games was in December, between Bynum and Gasol.

Both teams will be very well rested. Most coaches don't like more than three days off. Lakers will be off for six, Celtics for five.

The key to the entire season will be the Celts first 2-game homestand. If they win both, the Lakers have virtually no recourse but to win 3 straight in LA, and that's pressure.

If the Lakers win one in Boston, they win the series.

This is exactly why I hate then 2-3-2 bullshit. I guess it is set up that way because it is an east-to-west flight thing...but it just seems lame to me.

Quinn pole-slobberers and Anderson pole-slobberers are both cut from the same cloth. They simply chose a different libidinal object.

I like Garnett so I am pulling for the Celtics, I know they beat us but I would rather have barely lost to the Champs than to the second place losers. I still believe we should have won that series.

The Celtics just recently learned how to win on the road. They won two in Detroit. That's big for them going into this series.

Everyone who isn't Van Gundy is holding their breath, wondering who wins, Iron Man or the Hulk. Do the Lakers run away and the Celts can't keep up? Do the Celtics beat the Lakers up (they did in the regular season)?

Van Gundy says Lakers Dynasty starts now, gets better with Bynum. I hope he's right. I love this team.
