"They're still trying desperately to upgrade the team. One league source told ESPN.com that the Cavs are making one last push to try to acquire Mike Miller and Kyle Lowry from the Grizzlies. The deal, as described to me by a player agent, would send Miller, Cardinal and Lowry to the Cavaliers for Ira Newble, Donyell Marshall, Shannon Brown, Cedric Simmons and Dwayne Jones along with cash and at least one first-round pick from Cleveland. If the Cavs can pull that off, it would be an immediate upgrade of their roster. But they face stiff competition from a number of teams for the services of Miller and Lowry."

I think you have to do this. You get a darn good player and a young pg to mold without giving up arguably your best SEVEN players. Eight if you think Damon Jones is better than Donyell (which I do but I could be in the minority there.) I say pull the trigger...we can't sit on our hands here.

If Memphis accepts this deal.....I'm not even sure what to say. A great perimeter scorer and a very good PG prospect in return for a handful of bad players?

Sure, Marshall is pretty good and can knock down a couple 3's but on a good day he's average. Shannon Brown has decent potential, Simmons has less. Newble and Jones are bad.

If we have a real chance to get Miller AND Lowry, and Ferry doesn't budge from this offer, well.. nothing. Just continues his legacy...

According to rumor central...

"Denver and the Los Angeles Clippers, who the Griz face tonight in the Staples Center, are the teams reportedly making a serious push for Mike Miller and Kyle Lowry's services.
However, no deals were imminent. The Griz have officially rejected at least five sane offers for Miller and they were not close to consummating anything with the 14 squads interested in Lowry, according to a team insider."

Looks like everything is up in the air for the next day and a half.

Clippers are trying to set up for next year, with the return of Brand and whatsisname, the point guard.

Not sure why the Nuggets need to trade. They're on fire.

Cavs need it most... but have so little to offer. Would love to unload that much crap at once.
