That's where the Michael Redd idea came from, trading Wally and possibly someone else to get him.

Though they were only rumors and nothing official. I'd like it. Though I think Redd still isn't quite the playmaker we need, he's still more of a jumpshooter than anything. Not explosive off the dribble.

Redd's numbers went up every year of his career... until last year. He climbed the mountain to almost 26 points, fell of to 22 last year. Only 36 percent from three, which is good but not great.

That's the kind of drop off that doesn't terrify me but might make him available. The Bucks showed that the team they've assembled isn't as good as they'd hoped for.

Still, I doubt they'd trade someone like Redd for expiring contracts... and Wally isn't seen as much more than that.

Mike Miller would be way more believable, and he's much better off the dribble than Wally. And we wouldn't have to lose West or Gibson to get him.

If we get Miller and draft Darrell Arthur at #19, that would be two of maybe three nice steps. I don't see this team getting torn apart... yet.

BTW, Miller shot over 50 percent from the field, 44 from 3 (very nice), 16.5 ppg and 7 rebounds, an added bonus.

He's a good player. Along with West, Pavlovic, and Gibson, that would be a very good guard rotation.

What's funny is, when I think about what we really need, Larry Hughes is a guy that comes to mind.

Unfortunately, he was too fragile minded, or something, to deliver.

Expiring contracts are always good. I'm not ruling out Redd yet, and another name is Corey Maggette. He wants out of LA I think. Miller would be cool.

I love Corey Maggette, but he's a 3 like Lebron.

I don't agree on Hughes. I like his length and defense, but the guy is a dead solid 35 percent shooter, here or in Chicago. Too easy to forget all those 3 of 15 games.

Well yeah, that was my point about Hughes. Couldn't pull himself together and make shots or dribble drive effectively even though he was a strong defender and had talent.

I think Maggette can play the 2. 6'6 225 isn't that big. If we can play Wally (6'7 245), or Mike Miller (6'8 218) at the 2, we can play Maggette. And Maggette is quicker than either of them.

Not out of the question, but he's more penetrator than shooter (45/36). Depends on whether you think it's important to keep shooters on the court to maximize Lebron.

You start West and Miller, have Boobie and Sasha off the bench. All four can shoot.

Still need a big who can score AND rebound to replace either Andy or Wallace, who could be moved. Darrell Arthur fits that bill. Andy has some market value.

If the Bulls draft hometown boy Derrick Rose, I'd love Hinrich. But I'm a Jayhawk nut. Getting Hinrich, Arthur, and Miller sounds great to me.

Shep, we really dont need another facilitating pg like kirk, considering Delonte is the man with Boobie backing him up. IMO those two and Lebron are the only guys worth keepin around next year.

True enough. But he can shoot. He's probably Delonte but a little better.

I'd buy off that it would take a really, really good point guard to be better than the West-Boobie combo. And I know the Cavs are looking to extend them (they are exclusive rights).

Probably will bring in a 2 and a 4/5. One should be a legit #2 scoring threat.

I'd take Hinrich in a heartbeat. The guy shoots very well and is a true leader at the point guard position. He's been Chicago's only consistent bright spot for a while. Though it'd be tough fitting him in. Maybe West could play the 2 in that situation.

I'm not in love with Pavlovic anymore. He seems to play too tight, and his driving ability is limited to simply a tiny pump fake and going either right or left. It doesn't work very well. He stopped shooting well too. I wouldn't be mad if we had to deal with him playing at the 2, but I think we could use a better 2 guard.

I think adding 2 more players, a big man and a most likely a 2, will be appropriate, like you said Shep.

Miller or Redd has to happen. Maggette and Brand are both on the block if I'm correct. Things can be manuvered.

I'd almost rather have a guy who is less of a shooter but more of a playmaker. We don't want to end up back in the position of needing LeBron to play point forward and create all the shots.

The guy in the draft I hope falls to us is Chase Budinger. 6'7", flawless shooter, great leaper (volleyball superstar), still developing but can clearly play.

He's being called a more athletic Kyle Korver already. Really gets up for a white boy.

As a Jayhawk fan, I like Rush better than Douglas-Roberts. Something tells me the latter will only be good as a pro. Rush can really stroke it and still seems to be growing as a player, even though he's a senior.

The upside to Rush is his maturity and experience if you want an instant contributor at the two.

Budinger should be a top 5 pick. I think he was definitely held back by Bayless controlling the offense and Lute Olsen taking the year off.

If/when he drops into the early teens I think you should trade up for him, he seems like a perfect fit for us. Tall, super-athletic, truly talented (co-MVP of McDonalds all-star game with Durant, not like some of these out of nowhere guys) His only real weakness is defense (the one thing Mike Brown can actually teach).

After him, I'd look to buy another pick or two, and go after high upside/athleticism. Both Carolina guards (mainly Ellington), a bunch of small school guys....anyone who can dunk hard, make 3s, block shots, etc. Anyone who's great at one thing instead of average at everything like most of the Cavs.

we need a redd but what we really need is another big guy who can do it under the basket!!

teams have double teamed and sometimes triple teamed Lebron, If we can Get an AllStar Center to go along with what we have it will make a Big Difference.

He's popular in the 12-15 area in a lot of mocks.

I'm not in love with Budinger in terms of for the Cavs. I think getting another guy that primarily shoots would be a big mistake.

We need a driver, a penetrator, a playmaker, to get the ball out of LeBron's hands. Someone to make it so LeBron doesn't have to be point forward.

I'm not the biggest college basketball guru, but I don't see Budinger as that.

I'd rather have a Brandon Rush or a CDR.

Budinger is just a higher rated rush. Both guys are shooters and both guys are athletes. Budinger is a crazy leaper.

I like both. Not crazy about the Memphis guy. He plays weird.
