That's odd. I don't recall them being mentioned in cal's article.

But, since you chose to bring it up, I bet you'd find an alarming amount of folks in "Blue States" with a fist in the air revving away their paychecks next week.

Come on Shep. I don't have cattle. Too much work.

This has nothing to do with Republicans Shep.

You think all those bbq's are being fired up by only Republicans?

Is that all you have to stake a righteous claim to?

BTW, there's this famous beach, Seattle I think it was, where they are going to be banned from having beach campfires.
Global warming you know.

I wish they would ban Gore's jet from flying.

There's still time to build a fire pit in your backyard, folks, and have a BIG all night campfire with your friends !

Maybe we'll say it's a tiny little protest to the massive pollution Gore causes with his big lying mouth and his stupid jet.

Eh, no, we'll just have a GREAT TIME.

Leg, there is a disturbing correlation between being a Republican and siding up with any quack who disputes Global Warming. There's a gleeful frenzy whenever a scientist from Exxon University says, "Maybe it's not as bad as everybody says."

Why do you think that is? Coincidence that it's the party sponsored by Big Oil?

Again, it wasn't supposed to be this way, as Goldwater's daughter wrote, citing his horror at what his party had become. It wasn't supposed to be in the pocket of money grubbing shysters and religious charlatans. It was supposed to be about small government and personal freedom.

It isn't. It's about a country run by a handful of massive capitalist entities, especially oil, making decisions based on what's best for their businesses... not the general public.

That big companies are self-centered and make decisions that may not benefit our country?

Sure, they've always been there. What is the name of the town where the huge environment disaster happened?

Big bad companies are there, been there for many decades before
the Bush admin.

Ask Union Carbide how long they were in business along the river in WV.

It is just that it's a political jab now. Like "Hate the Bush admin because there are poor people"

I said ealier that it there were poor people during EIGHT FREAKIN YEARS of the Clinton admin. I don't believe you
ever responded about that...

There's a response to "There were poor people before Bush?" I mean, other than reminding you of just how retarded you are?

You don't think industrial America causes environmental catastrophes? You think people aren't poisoned by run-off? You think they keep a massive team of lawyers because it's their civic duty to employ lawyers? You don't think they're polluting the air, the water, and the soil?

I'm curious -- when some big, wealthy CEO type walks by you on the street, are you expected to just bow down or actually suck his cock?

You didn't get the point. You cowardly only rail against poverty and big biz when a republican pres is pres.

You think bad corps don't exist during eight years of the Clinton admin?

Then grow up, start being honest. A problem is a problem regardless of what party the pres belongs to.

You don't seem to care about anything, except finding excuses to bash Bush.

The poor don't exist during the Clinton years.

I think we all have your #. And it doesn't ring with integrity or honesty.

You're a hack. A moveon.orgy groupie. Not much there to respect.
But you'll be quiet as a church mouse when a Dem is pres.

You gonna market your methane posts? Or perhaps buy carbon credits from your boy Algore to offset em?

Stupid.

Now, stupid, read the above quote. And tell me what it REALLY says.

Of course there companies who have caused environmental disasters.

But you only pretend to care about that to bash Bush.
Or, has SOMEONE on the forum read that you bashed the EIGHT YEARS OF CORRUPT CLINTONS for not stopping those same bad companies?

You are a leftwingnut groupie. It's like a cult, you don't care to make sense, as long as you get to feel good belonging.

Stupid.

And they hired Bush to represent their interests above all others, even in matters of national security and the military; to help them operate without restriction, abuse their customers, and make record profits, all while unemployment rises and the space between CEO and employee multiplies at an alarming rate. That's why he called the "have mores" his base.

Democrats aren't just like Republicans, Cal. They don't believe that what's best for Big Oil and billionaire industrialists is really best for the other 99.9999999999999999 of America.

Now do you get the whole point of this?

Oh. in the seventies they hired Bush. Strange land you live in, dude.

I don't see Dems stopping the corrupt huge corps, either Shep.
At all. Ever.

So corrupt corps only started existed with Bush. Nary ONE during the Clinton years, right?

You know EIGHT FREAKIN YEARS when Clinton did NOTHING to stop ANYTHING?

Seems like the Dems, who control Congress, have not done diddly about anything important.

Nancy Piglosi said vote for them and THEY will lower gas prices.
Ya. wha happened, Shlep?

To only blame Bush for corrupt big biz and ignore the fact that huge corps here and there for many many decades, have run amok with pollution the environment, to make a bigger profit.

It just bothers you NOW because you hate Bush.

That's big of ya.

No, Cal, it bothers me because Bush blatantly serves that master above all others in all ways -- tax wise, environmentally, and in every other way.

A top environmental scientist recently said that Bush set back environmental progress about 30 years. He said Clinton was aggressively "green" before anybody knew what it meant.

Bush appointed an oil guy to oversee that kind of thing. Of course. It's the truth, Cal. It really is.

Our "Democratic Congress" is Dem by one vote... then one of them went into a coma. And one of the "Democrats" is Leiberman. It really hasn't been a Dem Congress to speak of.

By all credible predictions, it will be very soon, though. And with a Democratic president, you can look for some pretty damn big changes over the next eight years... and the environment and alternative fuel will be a big part of that.

We might not be blowing up as many people, but we'll probably extend health care and focus on education a little more. Hope you can live with that.

I'm trying to think of a country that hates poor people and the environment and loves oil barons and guns as much as you do, a new place for you to settle. Anybody?

I KNOW of a country that tolerates whining, lies about reality you could go to, that also tolerates somebody who
says every loser Dem running for pres was going to win no doubt, who hates Bush but loves Gore for being so "green", hates everything that is, and whines about the grass greener on the other side of the fence but doesn't have the nads to jump it, who lies, makes *&$$ up most of the time, and who doesn't have the capacity to genuinely give a crap about anything, and who wears pink silk jammies with red crescents on em, and who thinks Karl Marx was the best US president in US history.

No, wait, that was a horror flick. Or was it "opposite world" in the old superman comic books?

MOO.

It's interesting to find out where the real malarkey is coming from (& being paid for).

From the June 2008 issue of Environmental Politics:
quote:
The organisation of denial: Conservative think tanks and environmental scepticism

Abstract

Environmental scepticism denies the seriousness of environmental problems, and self-professed 'sceptics' claim to be unbiased analysts combating 'junk science'. This study quantitatively analyses 141 English-language environmentally sceptical books published between 1972 and 2005. We find that over 92 per cent of these books, most published in the US since 1992, are linked to conservative think tanks (CTTs). Further, we analyse CTTs involved with environmental issues and find that 90 per cent of them espouse environmental scepticism. We conclude that scepticism is a tactic of an elite-driven counter-movement designed to combat environmentalism, and that the successful use of this tactic has contributed to the weakening of US commitment to environmental protection.

I would have to agree with this.

AAAAAARRRGGH!

Yeah, there isn't a Right Wing Bullshit Machine... OR it's really tit-for-tat.

Sorry, folks. Not true. The so-called "Right" is fully funded by Big Oil and assorted billionaires, and a chunk of the annual budget goes to countering "real" information on things like Global Warming. They're telling you what to think and you're taking it.

And if you think they're doing it for your benefit, you're not just on your knees, you're unzipping their collective trousers for them.

But if you like that kind of thing...
