What would you guys think of Obama if he selected Colin Powell to be his running mate? Would you consider voting for an Obama/Powell ticket?

Let's try and stick to the question. It's not "Do you think it would win?" Would you consider voting for an Obama/Powell ticket? Yes or no, and why or why not?

right now I would vote for a monkey in a cage to oppose 100 more years of slaughter against Iraq with no clue about economics and support of torture

Switch Powell and Obama, and yes I would.

Powell is not running, so forget about it.

The ultmate ticket for me is Condi/Powell or vice versa. They need to run. Too bad they can't run now!

Wow. What a ticket that would be.

I don't know who I WILL vote for yet (obviously), but I certainly COULD vote for that ticket.

Two extremely intelligent men, one a great politician without much experience, the other with great experience but not a great politician, both with extremely diverse backgrounds and personal experiences, both seemingly highly intelligent and capable.

Wow. What an intriguing idea.

And how about the debates those guys could have with each other, let alone with Republicans? Man, that would be a fun ticket to follow and it would make for GREAT theater. Not to mention history.

Obama/Powell vs. McCain/Romney.

Ebony & Ivory. Sorry.

I'm not sure what to think of the Ob/Pow ticket. I don't think Powell is really in line with most of Obama's policies. Even the smallest difference would get blown out of proportion and it would become a race thing.

I'd have no problem with two black men in the White house, but I think it would reek of desparation for Obama at this point.

Powell is a) not running, and b) not running.

Forget it people. Funny how Dems think a Rep would take 2nd fiddle to a Dem to get a Dem elected.

F A N T A S Y - L A N D.

Give me a break. Powell can carry his own ticket as a Rep if he chooses to and to think he'd take 2nd place to a Dem is laughably typical of the desperate Dems.

Who's next on the list after Colin? Condi? You fookers have no talent you need to cherry pick the Rep?

LMAO....pathetic.

Powell is a liberal Republican. He's pro-choice, was against the invasion of Iraq, pro-affirmative action, against torture, for some gun control. And so far he's refused to say that he'll support the Republican nominee. (This was before McCain nailed it down.) He said “I will vote for the candidate I think can do the best job in America. Whether that candidate is a Republican or Democrat or an independent.” He's also praised Obama.

Now, I think it's probably more likely that he'd be McCain's nominee than Obama's. But it wouldn't surprise me if he's Obama's either. He fills out that ticket very nicely.

Not a chance. I wouldnt vote for a presidential candidate I didnt like in hopes that he might die and give me a guy I liked, but not very much.

Would you vote for McCain if he ran with Bobby Jindal?

I tried to ignore that one.

But I'm sure Barack Obama, US Senator, presumptive Democratic nominee for president, first black president of the Harvard Law Review, has nothing on someone like DieHard.

He's just trash.

Dude put down the crack pipe and step away from the Meth. Powell is not endorsing anyone right now, but don't count on him endorsing anyone but a Republican candidate.

But like I said, you live in a fantasy land supporting Obama, and you have this idea in your head that everyone is buying this Obama Kumbaya Change Hero message.

Look dude, Powell was Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and Sec of State. He needs a bit more than hope is change, change is good, bullshit.

He has repeatedly said he is not a politician, and my guess is this: HE WILL ONLY RUN FOR POTUS, so your fantasy that he'll build a ticket for 35+yr old Obama is not only laughable, it shows very clearly that you 1) are too fooking young to know WTF you're talking about, and 2) the Blogs that gave you this idea never thought this idiotic idea through.

Powell is a Republican, and while he may not be jumping up and down over McCain (Who is?) he is waiting for the right time that the McCain Campaign asks for his support.

What good would it do to have his endorsement now? He won this round.

Heck, you talk a good game but you have a lot to learn.

So did John McCain. So what? Now McCain needs to VPOTUS?

You have a schoolboy crush on a guy that will not be POTUS.

19% of voters for Hillary said they'd vote for McCain if Obama won the nomination.

How telling.
