I'll take the $1200. Gas will never get cheaper, so you may as well get used to it. Everything is getting more expensive, food, clothes, etc. Anything (everything) needs to be shipped via truck to stores, which means everything will get more expensive.

Any time I get some of my money back, it is a good thing. I will take it.

In effect you will still have $1200 'extra' in your checking account.

If you don't like it, I guess it is solely George Bush's fault.

This is not a hoax, its one of those things congress and a president does to show the public " you see we are trying to help you" when they know its just like throwing straw at a fire to stop it from burning... a useless act for the sake of acting.

Maybe Congress and the President are feeling a little guilty after they bailed out all of the mortgage bankers, and thought that maybe they wont get re-elected if people really got a whim of what has happened the past few months.

It is an election year maybe we should ask for more?

who knows maybe they will throw in a couple of six packs.
