For those of us more interested in the original purpose of this thread, Drudge is pimping a NC blow out for Obama, and a win for Hillary in Indiana.

He's also linking to Zogby saying Obama wins both: "ZOGBY: OBAMA UP 14 IN NC; AHEAD 2-POINTS INDIANA..."

I'm sticking with my prediction. I think it's Obama by 6 in NC, Hillary by 7-8 in Indiana.

>>Blacks will support Obama by at least 90 percent. Why? Because he is Black. That is the ONLY reason.>>

Not necessarily true. Your statement rings hollow if not for the political underpinnings of the candidate.

Can you see Blacks voting for Condi Rice? Women voting for Ann Coulter?

Osama is both Black and ultra-left. Rhetoric up the gazoo. THAT is why he took 92% of the vote in PA and, likely, a comparable percent in NC.

John, I think the chances of Hillary running as a third party candidate are next to zero.

Lawsuits about Florida and Michigan? That's probably more likely, though I think they'd both be thrown out. I don't see how she wins an argument that primaries governed by the DNC aren't subject to the rules the DNC set forth at the beginning of the primary schedule. But that doesn't mean they won't try.

Well, Steve, is that a fact, or are you being foolish?

I don't think it's a fact and I didn't make the statement.
I wouldn't use the word ONLY.
So you just puss out on my questions for this wordgame, Heck?
Good for you.

Or you got more reasons?
Let's hear 'em.

Ha, John. He's not "ultra-left." Come on, now. He's a liberal, sure. But ultra-left?

The "ultra-left" hardly exists in this country. What we think of as left is more like the right in the rest of the world.

Steve, if you've like to start another thread on race in general, go ahead.

DieHard made a ridiculous statement, which belied his ignorance about not just black voters, but voters in general. So I called him on it. And you for partially agreeing with him.

And you think he was wrong, too. So what's the big deal?

I do not think you stated a fact but I do agree with your premise 90% of blacks will vote for Obama. Heck, it the first time they had a chance to vote for one of theirs.

And the vast majority of white women will vote for Hillary.

In the general election that is why I think Hillary can win and Obama will lose. I feel that is exactly why the media has been so hard on Hillary. Because the right wing controlled media sees Obama as an easier target to defeat.

In the general election Hillary vs McCain. Hillary gets the woman vote, McCain gets the white male vote and Hillary gets the Black and Hispanic vote and Hillary wins

In the general election Obama vs McCain. McCain gets the white male vote even larger. McCain gets the white woman vote. The hispanic vote gets split and Obama gets the black vote.

Like you said 14% of the voters are black max and it will be less.

I see McCain beating Obama and losing to Hillary .....say it ain't so!

happy

Rich, my sense is that if Hillary did wrest the nomination away from Obama, many African Americans would stay home in November.

So would many young people invigorated by Obama's idealism and "wrong from the start" Iraq War opposition.

In fact, many of my friends would vote for Ron Paul before they'd vote for Hillary Clinton.

I don't think that's the right way to go - I'd pinch my nose and vote for Clinton - but I think it's mistaken to say that Clinton will gain support from all of Obama's constituencies.

There isn't one Heck.
Again you're just barking at me for no reason but to show how open minded you want us to think you are.

But in discussing the primaries it's at least a valid observation isn't it?

Anyway I made my prediction.
Just like New England by 17........

No, saying blacks only vote for other blacks because they're black is not a valid observation.

That's not what I mean and you know it.
The racial breakdown of the primary is extremely important.
IMO.

Which group to favor will be a huge concern to the delegates.

Boy, this gets repetitive. Steve says something stupid. Heck calls him on it. Steve and some other goofball accuse Heck of... I don't know... something. Being a phony or a smarty pants or a liberal or a magic elf or something.

Steve stands by a revised version of what he originally said. Heck calls him on the revision. And so it goes.

There's a grand total of ONE Conservative on this board who's bullshit didn't blow to dust when Heck rode in: That's Tupa. His stance is deeply rooted in smaller government, letting the market decide, and supply side economics. At least it isn't crazy.

Do Polacks vote for Polacks just because they are Polacks? In some cases, yes.

I was raised in the great city of Chicopee, MA and, to this day, politicians run without Party affiliation. But you can bet your bottom dollar that one candidate will be Polish and the other one will be French (once in a while a Mic slips in).

I was 'chastised' by some relatives because I voted for George Bush and not Mike Dukakis.

Uh I didn't say it dipshit.

I could say you're an idiot but that wouldn't be stupid.

Now you can spit out Heck's weenie.

Yeah, of course. That's part of it. But by focusing exclusively on race, which you always do, you're missing the reality.

People don't just look at race. It's not the only thing that governs how people vote, including blacks. There's sex, there's income levels, there are regional differences -- there are regional differences within individual states, for Christ's sake -- there are religious differences, union membership, military service, and all sorts of other factors.

Then you can sort them out by issues, like abortion and taxes and gay marriage and Iraq and all the rest.

You frown on the monolithic nature of the black vote. But there are all sorts of similarly monolithic cross-sections of American voters. And yet people like you can only point to the black one.

That's your ****ing problem. And DieHard's.

We never hear you guys making the same crack about Mormons, or rural gun owners, or rural church goers, or other groupings, even though their vote is similarly monolithic.

Just a slap at blacks. And then you don't see why singling them out and not the others would ever be considered to be racist or ignorant...

Well, like I said. I don't imagine you to be an outwardly racist person. I imagine you do just fine on an individual level. But you certainly don't seem to have much to say about blacks as a group that isn't derogatory.

According to Fox News, the exit polls are beginning to come in.

Josh Marshall has noted that the exits have consistently overestimated Obama's share of the vote.

So if the exits say Indiana's too close to call, then Hillary probably won.

Yup.

The exits have all worked like that so far. Whatever they say, add a few points for Hillary.

They should be out at 5:00 EST.

Point taken but as you and your young friends grow older and wiser ......sometimes you do not get what you want ..........and pissing in the wind killing yourselves is worse than not getting what you want. Right now there are two choices for America or continued destruction.........Clinton and Obama

And I think Obama is road kill going in.........blacks and young represent less that 25% of the voters and White males and women are the vast majority
