I support Hillary for some of the reasons you stated above. I alos agree with your premise on Obama. McCain is senile and over the hill and will keep us at war cause he knows nothing else. But I would like specifics and data about where the Clintons failed on military intelligence? Were you in the intelligence community oin the nineties when NOT A single GI died in hostile combat. Sport some hard facts to back your bs assertion. Of course the current admin is a miserable failure in all things including military intelligence and Iraq is proof of that!.

So wtf are you bellowing about........state facts please........provide some......you cannot....and please never assume jack about me pal in person or on the internet and especially about the military and force structure inclding intelligence

Dude, I know that's your favorite "gotcha" -- I say, "I don't know if I...", and you cut out "I don't know," and then say, "WE KNOW!"

Genius. Truly. And it's a little funnier every time.

But it doesn't make the drunken nonsense you wrote any more comprehensible.

Josh Marshall's been trying really hard to be objective on the Clinton-Obama race, but her recent comments are testing his equanimity:
quote:
Clinton To Put Gravity Under Scrutiny

What is Hillary talking about? She's going to break up the OPEC oil cartel? Because we have such a strong hand to play now with the OPEC member states? And isn't the main issue here a matter of rising demand, principally for rapidly expanding economies in Asia, not monopoly pricing?

Hillary is certainly not the first candidate to bash the oil producing states or oil companies around election time. And the polls seem to show it's working for her. But I'm concerned about the widening gap between reality and her campaign trail statements. First with the pledge to obliterate Iran if they attack Israel, then the rebellion against economists and now this.

Where are we going here?

--Josh Marshall

And I should mention that Hillary's comments are pissing me off as well.

Check out Hillary's profile over at The Onion.

Megan McArdle's put together a summary of why the gas tax moratorium is a terrible idea.

She explains in a few paragraphs something that took me about a month of Econ 101 to begin to understand, then totally screw up on the exam.

Check it out.

What in God's name are you talking about? In my original post, I slammed everyone who whines about elites (liberal and conservative), using a dumb proposal (which is supported by both Clinton and McCain) as a way in. Pointing out the stupidity of a proposal isn't a partisan attack; if anything, I admire Clinton and McCain for their ability to get people to ignore the stupidity of the proposal.

Besides, at least Clinton came out swinging when people pointed out how dumb her proposal was. McCain's "Come on, it might only be $25, but let the poor people have something...c'mon." act was an embarassment both to himself and the people who watched the interview.

Obama on Hillary's OPEC crapola:
quote:
"You say you've been in the White House for eight years, you've had two terms as U.S. Senator and haven't said a word about OPEC and now suddenly you're gonna take it right to OPEC," an exasperated Obama said. "When you've opposed fuel efficiency standards that would actually reduce demand for oil and put OPEC in a bind. That's not being straight with the American people. That's not the kind of politics we believe."

Also, this is ridiculous:

I guess you forgot your post about the horses........I just used your words to describe my feeling on what you said.......turnabout is fair play........beat on that.......since McCain is essentially senile any comments on brilliance of what he says would be astounding

besides for all here this is about votes not rocket science .......if it was about rocket science Bush's brain would be in a jar labeled ABBY NORMAL

First off, thanks for recognizing my rhetorical brilliance...you know what they say about imitation. Of course, it kind of falls apart when you follow it up with a string of complete non sequitors.

Alright, I'll take the high road here. I apologize for suggesting that it doesn't make sense to believe that you can understand what a member of another species is thinking. IF horses think in the same way that we do, it is entirely possible that they take pleasure in running until their bones shatter.

In terms of politics, I promise you that I am more than happy to debate any topic that you would like, providing you take mercy on me and write in English. I realize that I am showing how limited I am, but it is, in point of fact, my only language.

On this one, I'm willing to go with Bloomberg. I don't know...something about a guy having $11 billion tells me he might know something about economics.

In other news from guys with more money than a small country:
quote:
May 22 (Bloomberg) -- Billionaire investor Carl Icahn said Barack Obama would be a ``terrible'' U.S. president whose election would bring higher interest rates and a loss of international confidence in the dollar.

``I don't normally get involved in politics, but this time I am,'' Icahn told an investors conference in New York last night. ``I don't think Obama really understands economics.''
