Ahh the good ol' slippery slope argument... The gateway flag has been waved for years, with no scientific evidence to back it up. Facts are that if you have a personality that seeks out the even harder buzz, the bigger feeling of euphoria , the whatever then those people will have done the hard drugs even if weed had never existed. But for the 99% of weed smokers, the weed is all that they need. Just like for the beer drinkers, beer is all they drink, they don't "graduate" from beer to liquor, and then from liquor to moonshine, and then eventually from moonshine to diesel fuel. See what I mean? Weed should be legal, but it will be a long time before we see that because there are too many powerful lobbyist that want to keep it illegal, namely the alcohol industry and the oil industry (yeah I said oil). If Marijuana is made legal then that means hemp will be legal, and the uses of hemp are so vast, and its so superior to the things we use now, then a lot of big business would be out of business, and as long as they have their stranglehold on the politicians of this country we will never see true legalization |

That's easy for you to say. I was a straight arrow for most of my life. I didn't even have to start smoking pot...I just started listening to Willie Nelson. Two years later I was turning tricks behind a dumpster for junk. Seriously, though, the government's policy is absurd. Remember a few years ago when Tommy Chong got busted for selling bongs online? Remember who nailed him? DEA? Nope. Local cops? Nein. Chris Hansen from Dateline? No. The Department of Homeland Security. You know, the guys responsible for keeping the next 9/11 from happening. Bill Maher called it then--even if it just took two DHS agents to bring down Tommy Freakin' Chong, wouldn't we be safer--and wouldn't our tax dollars be better spent--if you took those two agents, put them in a room and told them, "Just sit there and think about Al Qaeda"?
