quote: Bush's War gets the disapproval of somewhere between the two, somewhere close to 80 percent.
This has been posted multiple times now, and I'll correct it again. The highest number I've seen for disapproval is 63% (from Gallup). About 10% less think we should bring the troops home "quickly" and only about 20% think the withdrawal should begin "immediately". I dont see the number 80 anywhere.

63% is certainly not the highest percentage. It probably is a pretty fair mean average. http://www.pollingreport.com/BushJob.htmyour other figures are also close but not accurate and undervalued. http://www.pollingreport.com/iraq.htmThe 80% number of disapproval might be from some poll taken of democrats which would not be a surprise and I think that number is closer to 90%. Diehard that was a nice jab but still vastly incorrect.

To the "was it worth it" question, it's about 2 to 1 against, so Toop was right. It's been as high as 65 percent on the "not worth it" and as low as 30 on the "worth it."
Change is minor, but 2 to 1 with the rest abstaining for a long time now. Almost as high as Bush's disapproval rating but not quite... so we get a decent idea of where the country splits and it's been holding for a while.

The numbers have actually moved more and more towards "not worth it" and "bad decision". The flipside of that is that most polls show foward looking questions like "should we pull the troops out ASAP?" moving towards "no".

The numbers aren't moving that much and there's up and down in both. The pull out numbers are lower, like just under 60.
Daily Show has been guesting people on Afghanistan, reporters who've been there for years like the scary hot South African chick and an author. With the Taliban escaping, regathering, and rebuilding, the matter of leaving that battle front for Iraq will be fluffed up as an issue again.
I would guess the end of this will be a greatly reduced presence in Iraq... and an increased effort in Afghanistan. And that probably pleases more Americans than not.

You're so off base on Daily Show and their guests. McCain, Clinton, and Obama have all been on. That one Middle Eastern (or Indian?) journalist/author who basically knows more in his pinky about the Middle East than most of us do in our entire body? Practically a regular.
McLellan, the doofus with the bad mustache from the U.N., even Heck of a Job Brownie. And journalists and authors who deeply, truly know their crap. Also Newt Gingrich, P.J., etc.
If you only watched those interviews every night, you'd know 100 times what you know now, which is mostly bullshit.

You're ragging me because I'm bad with names and have the memory of a rock.
Great. Way to elevate the conversation. You have weird facial hair.

That's funny. Just yesterday someone with the same screenname as you got upset when someone said "Thanks for the substantive post" in response to a throwaway comment. Weird. quote: I don't get that. Of course it wasn't "substantive." It was just a lighthearted jab that you've said that several times in the past few days.
But you pointed out that it wasn't substantive. Uhhhh... okay?

Weird that you would equate the two throwaway comments. Mine was lighthearted without being retarded, for instance. Or even vaguely insulting.
But I just wasted another post. We both know you know the difference.

Mybe you just take Steve a little too seriously. I thought his post was just silly. A little funny.
You were really insulted? Careful, you're making Diehard and Cal sound reasonable when they mock your left-coast sensitivity.
You get a point for using the word retarded though. Well done.

I'm honored to be quoted along with Cal. I think we would make a good GOP team. Maybe 2012?
