The Prius is like a status symbol around here. My wife's getting one when the sedan lease is up. On our SUV (we have kids and some hauling left yet), we got a 6-cyl that gets 25, like Steve's car.

Looking at a Prius makes me wanna barf, I admit. Does it HAVE to be that ugly? Can't it be that classic looking Bug from the Heidi Klum commercial? And why not?

My car gets 23/30, but is older than the Priuses. When I replace it, I'm going hybrid for sure. I'm tired of filling up in SoCal. But I don't drive anywhere. I probably won't fill up again until late August. So that's nice. I don't particularly enjoy giving money to the Saudis.

I drive a 2007 Mustang SVT, it is pretty fast, but I have had faster. I would never drive a prious (sp). Looks like a girlscout car, or a car for left wingers.

Since we're boasting, *cough* Diehard *cough* my 1999 F350 gets 25 mpg hwy & 18 city. With 35" tires. Thanks to a few modifications I made/ purchased.

Oh, and I can pull your house off its foundations, just in case.

(In all seriousness, it's paid for, and diesel was $1-$1.25 when I bought it. I needed a truck - voila. Oh, and I plan on keeping it for 500K or so.
I'd like Ford to get off their ass and mate the diesel they power the Range Rover with across the pond to an electric motor as well - kind of like GM has done with their Tahoe, minus the diesel- and bolt it into a F-150. If I had the money, I'd do it myself.
"Our" next car will be my wife's and will probably be a camry hybrid.)

dumb hybrids? yes american driving habits of excessive speed and uncourteous behavior on the road. Yes keep enjoying the "punch" your 4 wheel drive (which factually does not give you a speed boost on paved roads in an suv).

Everyone can be happy with inefficient vehicles whil our boys are stuck in Iraq worried about suicide bombers because of or oil dependence. Keep bragging about your irresponsible behavior that is keeping our kids getting killed every month.

Better yet all of the goods we keep buying from china fueling their economic boom which is adding to their plans to build more roads(that takes a lot of oil) and more cars which will increase our dependency on oil and prices will continue to rise. I hope you are proud of all this bragging about big inefficient behavior and vehicles makes you feel like a man.

LOL
Day before yesterday somebody at C Span had a news clipping on screen, as they often do, and it was about politicians and the gas guzzlers they drive.
I don't remeber many (as I recall some monster truck of Gore's was just one), but the one that made me chuckle was Charlie Rangel's custom Caddy.
Looked like a barge.

My JD tractor still has a full tank and I've really been using it to rock rake, etc.
Haven't started plowing yet...

I think all food should be banned, because food causes some folks to pass gas, and that methane causes global warming because liberals are big ***_____ !

Just wanted to make a quick point - I have to go out soon and start spreading dirt in the barn.
