In case you didn't get the memo,
The Revolution Will Not Be Televised.

This is being brought about by a desire to be less self-destructive on this board, and to help preserve my sanity as well.

I'll put some stuff up when I can and if anyone wants to see it they may, and I can continue to contribute without interfering with other discussions.

I love Ron Paul.

So aside from him, where do you stand on the issues? Do you need to consult the revolution or can you speak for yourself?

I never know with you Paul types because even he has problems thinking outside the revolution box. He gets caught up in serious questions that his revolution cannot answer. The debt for one. The deficit for another.

you want to contact a soldier from korea? I am from korea and a vet from the south korean army and served dual purposes for the U.S. military.

I am for scaling back international bases and foreign deployment as well as military spending in general. We already have the arsenal and technology to prevent any attack anywhere by our ability to deliver force within 24 hours anywhere. I dont think and this is just a generalization of U.S. soldiers deployed in South korea that it is all that bad for them. They have the ability to jump to tokyo and or hong kong pretty easily.

"According to my own study, which I can provide to Nolan Chart, of the 2,188 mainstream media stories about presidential candidates between January 14th and February 10th, only 4 were about Dr. Ron Paul. Contrast that to:

756 stories about Hillary Clinton
760 stories about Barack Obama
674 stories about about John McCain
424 stories about Mitt Romney
281 stories about Mike Huckebee

While we set the world record for single day campaign contributions the month before, our candidate was virtually ignored just one month later!"

whatever it takes.

it'd probably be the same if we were voting beer for president. dare i say you'd still vote bud light fellow patriot?

guinness for breakfast....water at parties.......and the freedom to do so.........ahhhh to be a teen again.......

I understand your frustration but try to be rational.
You have Kelly Green, Emerald Green and Red running for office.
Kelly Green has no chance but by God you stand your ground and vote Kelly.
Now you have handed the election to Red.
And Kelly is forgotten after the election, not welcomed by the Red team.

I'm for maintaining foreign bases, increasing military spending and increasing the force levels to a more realistic number. We don't have ENOUGH troops right now for christs sake.

I could agree with a lot of Paul's domestic policies, but his Isolationist view of foreign policy demonstrates such a lack of understanding of reality that it makes me question my beliefs.

Perhaps he should jump on McCain's ticket if he ever wants any chance to do any good (as for me, I tend to disagree with some of McCain's domestic stuff...)

Ron Paul is right. I saw the CNN raping of one of his interviews, and FOX News had like two or three complete and flat out lies and manipulations that if they were not so well crafted would have resulted in Grand Jury indictments for a host of charges.

Ron has gotten some bad ass press. He has also said some off the all statements. I like Ron Paul. Maybe not as POTUS, but his foreign policy and thoughts on our continued fookups since WWII is hard to argue with from where I sit.

I am not Libertarian, and Paul did the GOP a favor by running under the GOP flag. Because thet guy was McCains Ross Perot, who I like more than Ron. He pays for lots of Veterans in this country, so Ross happens to be in the top 5 of my favorite Americans.

Anyway, Ron has some good soundbites. Start talking CINC responsibilities with him and I lose interest.

how many of the 700 bases do you want to keep? one base in each of the 130 countries we occupy?

you playing RISK? if you were you'd notice we have two on alaska, two guys on central, two on greenland, and a bunch of random singles spread out all over the board--none of them owning anything. at the beginning of each turn you get five just for livin' and 5 for having the US, and every turn proceed to stack them all in the middle east, giggling, burnin 'em up until they're all gone, losing all ties, passing dice without a card....again.

at the beginning of the game the tan piece was just playing. now you can't understand why he's totally given up on the game and his only agenda now is to **** you up. i think he took it personally you were trying to knock him out, i mean, everyone's still playing, no one wants to die early.

the point of the game is to lay low DieHard. gain strength very slowly, path of least resistance. above all, get fat together.

are you in agreement with me that these 700 bases should at least all be evaluated for necessity? i'm sure they haven't been yet this millenium.
if so you probably agree they need to be impartial obviously. otherwise what's the point, right?

or do you think the government is probably running them all at 100% eficiency?

increase the military spending to what? what is this more realistic number you want?

without searching, can you tell me what we spent in 2007 on military spending? in 2006?
i can. well over half a trillion. (did that make it sound bigger? i was hoping it would.)

like 590 bil and you want to increase it?
how do you propose you are going to pay for this? i don't care if it's crazy, at least wing it. i want a bentley too, but it's just not in the cards, friend. taking care of the new car i got is where my head should be, donchathink?
"i have payments to worry about....can't borrow until that principle's down. "

that's how we should be thinking.
is this mattering?

throw out your ideas to help me afford your war and pay my share of it while you're at it. exactly why is this important to you? i genuinely want to know.
are you afraid?

maybe instead you could see a value in better managing the money and troops we're already spending. that adjustment could really go a long way, especially if we started placing our guys where they belong, like on alaska, greenland, and central.
(not literally goofs)

i wish this were only a game.

i'm rational Steve. look at 2000. voting green was irrelevant then, Gore won the popular and the electoral and still lost.

With the Nader votes he might have won more states.
He didn't.
Whether or not it's outdated (like the Bill of Rights is becoming) it's how we run elections constitutionally.

Maybe Nader did us a favor though I think Gore's newfound lunatic environmentalist posture is basically a money grab and attention getting device.
He was one of the biggest hawks in the Clinton advisory team.

diehard, do you support the troops?
and i don't mean mentally, i mean physically.
do you do anything for them in particular?

not saying this is you but a lot of people claim they support them but really just move air and sounds in and out of their mouth. that doesn't do shit to support them. either does a magnet on their car the troops will never see. kinda seems arrogant to me, like their showing off. giving a buck to the goverment for a ribbon magnet has nothing to do with troops, from their perspective.

I served for 22 years. I know what the troops are going through. And I know that we need more troops, not less. We are in a long struggle against terrorism, whether you in your fantasy world want to believe it or not.

but thanks to that system we know what to do. we just need to do it. and without the computers. 96% of the vote is counted in secret, by computers.

Bud I don't think it's about counting the votes I think it's about Wyoming (or any state other than California and NY) having a voice in an eletion.
We seem to be on the verge of eliminating states rights anyway but maybe we oughta try to stall the rush.

It seems that most people want things given to them. Ron Paul is a candidate who is compassionate but also is a man of integrity and looks for america to do likewise.

not if we change our foreign policy we don't.

so i take it you don't really do anything for your fellow troops except to send them off to eat shratnel for..........
i won't fill in that blank. it's surely not for nothing but.......

and you didn't even attempt to propose how to pay for it.
nor did you acknowledge that we're borrowing now, a monkey which has now accelerated to one trillion a year (combined interest on debt and defecit for '07).

it wasn't a huge problem a few years ago. only now is interest really sky high.
don't let the fact that i saw it and did the math myself and started pointing it out cheapen the facts. of course i'm before the news has carried it--they report, they don't discover. and if no one is saying it they won't create that news, trust me. there's bigger, better, shinier things to report.
well maybe not bigger.

i hope no one lets you near the finances in your house.

under the mccain plan a North American Union is about the only solution to a hunderd year War (still in its infancy in comparison to this).

under my fantasy-land plan we level the playing field with the enemy by take a step back to reevaluate where we are, all the while zooming in on the target while monitoring our borders. that shit over there isn't going anywhere. we could take 5 years off and be fine. a one billion dollar bounty would do more. and they say we spend 3 bil a month in Iraq. appeal to the greed of man. work smarter not harder.

you should start watching Mac on Future Weapons, Discovery channel. if you know the show then allow it to sink in cuz you aren't getting it.

so for the record:
what do you mean by more troops, not less?
you keep saying this but it's not clear. more here? some from abroad moved here, like i want? more to go die in Iraq/Iran? a draft? please be specific.

i never said i wanted less, i'd just like to see them in other places. not to be silly, but exactly like the the board game i'd stack my borders and set up for the future.

Corps of Engineers are wasted behind crosshairs and you should really admit it. there's plenty to do here ant home Diehard and we're already paying the wage but getting zero return on our investment. btw the understatement of the decade cuz we go 600 billion dollars the other way, every year.

i don't want to unemploy people Diehard I just don't want to police the world. there's free labor there, just add materials. (i know it's not but you know what i'm saying)--again we need to utilize our resources.
you skipped that too.
and the investigation of government waste committee.
pick and choose.
got war?

on a scale of 1 to cheney where do you see yourself?

i think i'd fall 3-4ish and a solid 2 at peacetime (inexpensive,efficient,keeeping guys alive=good use of resources)

do you collect social security and a nice military pension?
is there a ribbon on your car? Wink

way to young for Social Security yet. And I earned my pension. No ribbon on my car. Like I said, I served in Iraq. I don't need a ribbon on my car to show support, I have walked the walk, have you? Or do you just watch movies and news casts.

I hate to add any legitimacy to a thread with the phrase "conspiracy theory" in its actual heading, but I think this bears mentioning; Ron Paul won 16% of the vote in PA and got zero coverage for it.

I understand that the GOP primary is over, but Ron Paul really is doing something unique. The guy has raised unbelievable support and money for someone with no press coverage whatsoever. If for no other reason, he deserves some press just based on how unique his campaign has been. 16% of the vote without getting your face on TV? C'mon, that's something.
