Not to worry.
In January somebody will raise a tax on something or other and call it "the green tax" or other positive sounding name and we'll be on to the next crisis of the week.
dog
You'll notice the change from "Global Warming!!" as a headline to "Climate Change!!" just to hedge the bet.

Klaus is cool, and honest. Gore is a big phoney like Obama, Hitlery and Kerry (Also Edwards, Kucinich, etc.)

he presented the English version of his latest book that argues environmentalism poses a threat to basic human freedoms

nothing against the actual science...

My answer is it is our freedom and, I might add, and our prosperity," he said

nothing against the science.....

Klaus, an economist,
Again he is not an expert on anything except well money....
nothing against the science....

Cal, it's still true: The vast consensus in the scientific community has firmly agreed that global warming is real, dire, and mostly human caused.

The head of the meteorological society recently said that the rash of hurricanes may not have been due to global warming after all. And he was quick to add that there's no doubt that global warming is real AND dire AND closely correlated to spikes in greenhouse gasses... but its effects are still being studied and understood.

Great points, sev.

It is interesting that "The Visionary" won't even debate the guy, though. I believe it's because Klaus would slaughter "The Visionary" in a cost/benefit debate.

lEGACY i agree with you I think Gore would not do well in a debate about the economics and the cost benefit about global warming.

There at this point is nothing to debate about "cost benefit" when it comes to ways to deal with it. The reality is that it is going to mean more expensive/ less amenities/ less luxuries in life. It will mean economic recession to a degree and definately less growth and profit.

Honestly I do agree with most conservatives that a lot of the more liberal economic approaches would be disastrous for our country. However I dont agree with denying the problem in the first place is the right thing to do.

I wish Gore would lead by example for instance like the actor Ed begley who definately lives by what he believes in.

This is true. All while we wait for the "magic green tech" to appear. I've posted before that the tech will drive the switch away from carbon emitting fuel, not the increased cost of the CE fuel. (or perhaps decrease in cost of the green tech) As long as I have been driving or can remember, Europe has paid double what we do for fuel. Sure they've got more hybrids, etc. over there, but not that many more, and those are band-aids - not solutions. I think even a major stop gap in the switch will have to be something that integrates into our current distrobution & infrastructure. Right now, hydrogen or biodiesel seems to be that stop gap.

Honestly I do agree with most conservatives that a lot of the more liberal economic approaches would be disastrous for our country. However I dont agree with denying the problem in the first place is the right thing to do.
Agreed

Which is why I never miss an opportunity to dogpile on Gore.
What a douche-wagon.
